Stogie, only the listed nominees in any catagory can be voted for. All votes must be mailed to Kenneth Quinnell. (He votes the votes to remain secret.) Mariella Smith and PoHo aren't eligible. Contact Kenneth if you have any confusion about the voting process.

Thanks for mentioning Litbrit and I.

I disagree with the 'hometown favorites' philosophy at any rate. It shouldn't be just like the 'good ol boy' mentality. They're ourn. It should be for THE BEST.

This is how things go so wrong. When people vote blindly for someone because of some affiliation.

I would not expect a vote in my favor if I were not THE BEST merely because I hail from the same dirt spot in the world as someone else.

Wrong headed.

I just saw this!

Thank you so much for your support, Stogie. I haven't heard anything tonight, not yet. I couldn't be in Orlando because I'm moving house tomorrow; in fact, I'm supposed to be packing right now, ugh.

I imagine if the news had been really good, I would've been notified by now. But as they say, it's an honor just to be nominated, and in my case, as new and small a blog as litbrit is, that is doubly true.

It has been a lovely week, though, hearing from readers and friends who learned of my nomination for Best Writer, first by Michael, and then by you.

You and I know all too well that this blogging thing is a labor of love, not one that's undertaken for money of any sort, so the kind words of readers mean a great deal.

Thank you again.
