Dunedin man in need of kidney

"Joshua Tannen will be speaking to Tampa City Council to make a public plea for a kidney. Joshua’s mother donated a kidney to him in 2002, but the transplant failed in 2011. For ten years, Josh and his family have been on a search for a donor. Josh is on dialysis every night for ten hours.I invited Josh to speak tomorrow to make his case before Tampa. Please share this story so that Josh’s plea can be heard far and wide. If he was your kid or loved one, you’d be yelling it from the roof top - so the least we can do is a share.
Any leads for Josh?
 Email me at luis.viera@tampagov.net

Thank you so much to Mitch Perry for doing this story." Tampa City Councilman Luis Viera

Hillsborough County District 3 Down To A 2 Man/Woman Race

In the first campaign forum of the cycle, only two of the six candidates in the race bothered to show up.
---
Democrats Gwen Myers, Thomas Scott, and Frank Reddick were not in attendance. Nor was the lone Republican in the race,
Maura Cruz Lanz.
---
Myers told Spectrum Bay News 9 that the forum conflicted with a prior
campaign commitment.
---
Only the 2 grassroots canidates showed up, Sky U. White and Rick Fernandez.
---
“This is the first forum we’ve had and we’re 90 days out from the election,” White said after the debate. “People want to hear what we’re about. What we plan on doing.
What’s our vision?”
---
“They made a statement to the community,” Fernandez said afterward, refusing to say what that statement was. “I’m just glad Sky was here. I think a service was done by the folks who put this together.”

Forgetful Katie Hodges

Tensions emerged towards the end of the event, however, when Kate Hodges, a volunteer with the Buttigieg campaign in Florida, asked Pratt if the Sanders campaign had something similar to Buttigieg’s “rules for the road” platform, a campaign document that stresses that those involved in his campaign cultivate a sense of respect.
“Because I’ve seen some things in here tonight that give me great concern,” Hodges said, alluding to disparaging comments that she said she heard Sanders supporters in the audiences make about some of the other candidates at the forum. “Does Bernie have a similar protocol in writing that requires those in his campaign and supporters to be respectful and truthful?”
Pratt said that yes, Sanders had taken a “clear and unequivocal position on civility in politics,” but added that he completely rejected Hodges contention that the Vermont Senator’s supporters were poorly behaved, setting off a large cheer from the Sanders contingent in the room.
Mitch Perry

"Our community is divided over the direction of the party and when party leaders seek to force conformity in a time when there should be vigorous debate it irritates to no end. If the establishment leadership wants the support of the people, back better candidates. Racists, sexists, bullies, and billionaires...these are not leaders we should be uplifting and demanding unity behind." Chis Cano

Tampa GOP Party at a Town 'n' Country Strip Mall

Ronda Storms was honored by the local party during the event, receiving a lifetime achievement award.
---
But unlike the other honored recipients who paused for a photo and then moved off stage after having their name called, Storms grabbed the microphone and proceeded to verbally bash Republican legislative leaders in Tallahassee who she accused of being soft on abortion and criminal justice issues.
---
Saying it was time for a “family conversation,” Storms said she agreed with an earlier comment that the Florida GOP was “not the far left. But we also don’t want to be left-lite.”
---
Florida clown Matt Gaetz provided the entertainment.
---
“The impeachment of Donald Trump is the Democratic excuse for the lack of an agenda or an agenda that is downright terrified of the American people.”
---
His sidekick Ross Spano was also there
“Their ends justify their means, they believe, and they will stop at nothing for the pursuit of power, up to and including the soft revolution to overthrow and unseat a duly elected president.”
---
Mr. Spano is  under investigation by the Department of Justice for alleged campaign finance violations.

Florida Banana Republicans Dennis Baxley and Rick Roth

Florida GOP once again to suppress direct democracy
---
Over the past few decades, Floridians frustrated that the Legislature won’t advance important reforms have gone directly to the ballot box to pass amendments to the Florida Constitution. But that could get harder under a new proposal by two Republican legislators.
---
Central Florida Republican Dennis Baxley has introduced a resolution in the Florida Senate that would increase the percentage needed to pass Florida Constitutional amendments from 60 percent to 66 and two-thirds percent. A companion bill has been filed by Palm Beach County Republican Rick Roth in the Florida House of Representatives. Florida GOP Keeps Attacking Home Rule

After the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school in South Florida, the mayors of twenty Florida cities filed a legal challenge to a state firearm law. The controversial law allows the state to impose a $5,000 fine on any local official that dares to pass local
gun regulations.
---
The firearm law is an example of a growing problem for local governments the Republican led Legislature keeps attacking “home rule,” the right of municipalities to pass laws that suit individual communities. here

Florida GOP Jeff Brandes: Let’s Make a (Corrupt) Deal

An activist group is running a radio ad in the Tampa Bay area against St. Petersburg-based state Senator Jeff Brandes that questions his ethics. The ad from Florida Strong is called “Let’s Make a (corrupt) Deal.” It attacks the Pinellas Republican for receiving campaign contributions from companies like Duke Energy and insurance lobbyists, and then claims that he voted on issues on behalf of those companies at taxpayers expense. here

Bargain Bob's Talents

In an interview with Dara Kam of the News Service of Florida, Tampa mayor Buckhorn was asked whether he’s considering running for governor. here
----------
”I don’t know. I’m looking at it,” he said. Though he loves being Tampa’s mayor, he said he hasn’t stopped thinking his talents could step up to Tallahassee.
----------
Lets look at some of the mayor's talents!

He was no fan of Amendment 2 here

----------
He called the ACLU, the Council on America-Islamic Relations, and the NAACP fringe groups. Though this month he emphasized he wasn’t including the NAACP in those remarks. here
