Jon Rector Speaks Out

And, for the incessant Republican robocallers: We voted for Charlie Crist. Florida has suffered enough at the hands of the Chief
Executive Orifice Prick Scott.
After Scott and his minions threw their support to Nan Rich, she was no longer a viable candidate. A vote for Rich would be the same as a vote for Scott.

Not Getting Screwed

Florida Democrats are united behind a common goal Send Rick Scott packing.
Crist is being opposed by Senator
Nan Rich.
She was a good Senator.
But now she is backed by Republicans.
The RPOF Rick Scott team has
propped up Rich.
She has stubbornly compromised her legacy by running. She will be remembered as a spoiler. Someone whose sole purpose was to attack a fellow Democrat. Progressives knowing this have fled Senator Rich's camp
They have joined Governor Crist.
Rich has also been helped by outside forces. Republican funded outside sources. The racist group Progressive Choice. This group includes Democrats.
Dems disloyal to the party.
 Our findings are explosive.
The depth and level of involvement of Republicans is staggering. Some Democrats close to Senator Rich have also been involved.
We look forward to reading it. We love Rich, support her and want a debate.
She has not compromised anything.
We are not GOP!

NOT GETTING SQUEEZED

The Florida Un-Democratic Party

Used their annual fundraising dinner to bash Gov. Rick Scott — but not to showcase the candidates that hope to replace him. Former Gov. Charlie Crist and former Senate Democratic Leader Nan Rich — weren’t allowed to address the more than 1,500 party activists who will be asked to help the eventually nominee defeat the governor. here

Charlie Crist FINALLY Debates Nan Rich!

Since Candidate Charlie Crist has repeatedly said that he has no interest in debating Candidate Nan Rich in the Democratic Primary election, I have decided to hold a WOTM mock "That's What You Said" debate, and use answers provided by the candidates at various times in their political careers......here

Florida Legend Buddy MacKay Endorses Nan Rich

Sen. Nan Rich brought her dark-horse campaign for governor to the University of Tampa on Tuesday, trumpeting the endorsement of former lieutenant governor and congressman Buddy MacKay, a Democratic elder statesman.....more>

Mr. MacKay, now retired in Marion County, was a state legislator, U.S. House member, lieutenant governor under the late Gov. Lawton Chiles, and briefly governor after Chiles’ 1998 death. He lost the 1998 governor’s race to Jeb Bush. He’s one of the last remaining members of the group of progressive Democrats, including Chiles, Reubin Askew and Bob Graham, who dominated
Florida politics during the 1970s and 1980s.

Nan Rich In Ybor City

If the progressive wing of the Florida Democratic Party had a dream candidate for governor, he or she would sound pretty similar to Nan Rich, who spoke to the Hillsborough County GLBTA Democratic Caucus at J.J.'s in Ybor City........more

Florida's Right Wing Infestation

Two more Florida right wingers have come out against the medical marijuana ballot initiative. On Wednesday afternoon, Florida House Speaker
Will Weatherford and Senate President Don Gaetz submitted a notice of intent to file a brief to the Supreme Court as “interested persons” opposing the ballot initiative. They join Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi......more
Governor candidate Nan Rich supports medical marijuana
They are  scared that if the amendment makes it to the ballot, it is widely expected to draw voters to the polls who may not normally vote in mid-term elections and who could potentially send  Gov. Rick Scott and other Republicans packing.
Visit Mr. Weatherford's countdown clock here

Michael Hussey: Charlie Crist And Nan Rich

I say let Crist and Rich both run and we have a healthy debate on the issues in the Democratic primary. Democrats need to support the winner of the primary. People are worried about if Crist is progressive enough or can Rich raise as much money as Gov. Rick Scott. The answer to both questions is no. If you decide to sit this election out then Scott gets a second term. Think about that for a moment......more

Florida's Bill Nelson - Let The Poor Starve

28 Senate Democrats voted with the Republicans
Our own Bill Nelson was one of them.
Kirsten Gillibrand a Dem. from NY proposed to restore the $4 billion that the current farm bill--designed by Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) and Thad Cochran (R-MS)--cuts from SNAP (Supplemental Food Assistance, known as food stamps and to offset this restored funding with a limitation on crop insurance reimbursements. Our current crop insurance subsidies benefit large farms at the expense of smaller ones and are one of the many glaring manifestations of corporate welfare that Congress never fixes.  Gillibrand's amendment would, in essence, cut corporate welfare spending to restore social welfare spending.......more

Nelson will be a speaker at the Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner. This is the guy the FDP wants to run for governor? Check out Nan Rich. A real democrat.
