Ybor City May Lose Cuban Consulate To St. Pete

Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn's lack of vision and ties to Frado of the MCM may have cost Ybor City their Cuban Consulate office.  According to St. Pete  City Council Chairman Charlie Gerdes "A couple of other Florida cities have been outright rejected." Alluding to Tampa and Miami.
----------
Gerdes didn't elaborate on his remarks, saying he didn't want to betray the confidence of the Cuban foreign ministry official who told him which Florida cities were out of the running. here

UNITED FOR CARE MEETS 100% GOAL

According to the Division of Elections website 73, 713 petitions have been verified. That’s 5,000 over the required amount to trigger the Supreme Court review.

Campaign Manager, Ben Pollara stated, “We are thrilled at this timely accomplishment.  This is the first major milestone to bringing medical marijuana before the Florida voters in November 2016.  In the next election, voters will succeed where their elected have failed them, and pass a comprehensive, compassionate medical marijuana law to serve the hundreds of thousands of sick and suffering people who are desperate for relief in our state. Without our volunteer efforts we would not be so well positioned to make the ballot in December.”

In order to be placed on the ballot United for Care needs the Supreme Court approval and to collect 683,149 valid petitions by Feb 1, 2016. Last election, ballot placement was not approved for the dedicated team until the final hour.
----------
Campaign Chairman, John Morgan, stated, “Compassion is coming in 2016! Tallahassee is broken, but I have faith in the people of Florida. We will win and hundreds of thousands will benefit as a result.”

Hillsborough County Beware - Jim Norman Is Back

The strong conservative
says, he will file to run for a seat on the County Commission where he was a player for nearly two decades.
-----------
Some of Mr. Norman's Highlights
Joined the vote to ban county government from even acknowledging gay pride events. He said no to health benefits for unmarried couples including same-sex partners.
"I see this as (leading) to gay marriage next," Norman said in 2004. "This is not going to be San Francisco east."
----------
He angered black leaders with a proclamation honoring Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.
----------
He blasted Obamacare as "a socialism takeover."
----------
He hung out in Vegas with lobbyist who appeared frequently before the commission.
----------
A developer-friendly commissioner he was owned by Ralph Hughes owner of the Cast-Crete precast concrete business in Seffner. He pushed hard to rename the county's prestigious award for residents who show moral courage in standing up to government for his friend and benefactor.
"I found very quickly that Ralph expected something back from me if I was going to be one of his chosen candidates," Rose Ferlita
----------
"Payola"
La Gaceta
----------
"He won his race but did not fare well in public opinion. Public office is a public trust.Obviously, that didn't sink in to Jim Norman."
Jan Platt
----------
"He's been carrying the water for developers for all his 18 years on the commission. He's as much responsible for the condition Hillsborough County is in today — the transportation, the sprawl mess we're in."
Pat Kemp
----------
"Spare us. This clown is one of the reasons Hillsborough County moved backwards for years. Deny him the right to ever serve in public office again. Please." Susan Smith

United for Care: We have enough petitions for FL Supreme Court Review!

We have just hit 73,713 VALIDATED PETITIONS enough overall and in the required districts to trigger a Florida Supreme Court review of the petition.
----------
Our work is not done, however:  We must get another 609,436 validated petitions (and Supreme Court approval, which we expect) to be placed  on the 2016 ballot.
----------
Tomorrow is the beginning of the next phase
and we need every bit of support we can get to collect the ballots we need.
----------
PLEASE make a contribution tonight before midnight and John Morgan will match it, doubling its power.
