Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd And Pig Shit

While out on the farm tipping bulls,
sometimes you run the risk of being hit in the ear with a little pig shit because a scared jackass just won’t stop kicking.

Florida's Right Wing Infestation

Two more Florida right wingers have come out against the medical marijuana ballot initiative. On Wednesday afternoon, Florida House Speaker 
Will Weatherford and Senate President Don Gaetz submitted a notice of intent to file a brief to the Supreme Court as “interested persons” opposing the ballot initiative. They join Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi......more

They are  scared that if the amendment makes it to the ballot, it is widely expected to draw voters to the polls who may not normally vote in mid-term elections and who could potentially send  Gov. Rick Scott and other Republicans packing.

Pam Bondi Contesting Medical Marijuana

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is contesting a proposed ballot initiative for a medical marijuana constitutional amendment and has asked the Florida Supreme Court for an opinion. Bondi contends the proposal from People United for Medical Marijuana, a group led by high-profile attorney John Morgan, is misleading the public and is presented in a way that does not convey its “true meaning and ramifications.”......more

62% of Florida Voters Would Back Medical Marijuana Amendment

There is good news from the Sunshine State. A new Public Policy Polling survey found that 62 percent of voters in the state would support a ballot measure legalizing medical marijuana. Only 26 percent said they would likely oppose one and 12 percent are undecided. Support for the idea is strongest among young voters and liberals.......more

John Morgan, a major President Obama fundraiser and the boss of former Gov. Charlie Crist, is taking the reins of a Florida medical marijuana initiative, (Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act) promising to pump major money and political muscle into the popular issue.

The Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act, SB 1250

The Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act now in the Senate’s Health Policy Committee.
Florida residents are urged to contact committee members and tell them the importance of passing this legislation. A recent poll found 70% of Florida voters, including 56% of Republicans, support medical marijuana legislation in the Sunshine State.

Florida's Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act

SB 1250: Authorizing a qualifying patient to possess and administer medical cannabis, and possess and use paraphernalia for a specified purpose; requiring a qualifying patient or the patient’s caregiver to present to a law enforcement officer a registry identification card to confirm that the person is authorized to possess, use, or administer medical cannabis or paraphernalia; requiring a qualifying patient or the patient’s caregiver to possess, use, or administer only medical cannabis that is obtained from a dispensary or medical cannabis farm, etc.

Narcotics Cops In Ski Masks Raid Parrish Home

the husband-and-wife crime wave were at their home in Parrish, just across the Sunshine Skyway bridge in Manatee County, when deputies arrived Monday afternoon. Several deputies, detectives and undercover narcotics cops in ski mask. One of the suspects in this case is dying.She is in her 60s, and confined to a wheelchair. One of the other suspects is her caretaker.He is also in his 60s, and a disabled Vietnam veteran. Cathy Jordan has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease) and has depended on marijuana to combat the progressive nature and many of the symptoms of her disease.

A coincidence? Unbeknownst to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, the people they were investigating have been leaders in a push to legalize cannabis for medicinal purposes in Florida. On Wednesday afternoon, two days after the incident, Sen. Jeff Clemens, D-Lake Worth, filed the previously planned Cathy Jordan Medical Cannabis Act (SB 1250) in the Senate.
