Ed Turanchik On The Cuban Embargo

"South Florida's political clout has long controlled U.S. foreign policy toward Cuba, but if the Tampa-Orlando corridor came together and demanded a change in Cuba policy,
it would happen".......Ed Turanchik

One More Reason Stogie Recommends Ed Turanchik For Mayor Of Tampa.

Stop The War On The Cuban People

Free Flow Of Information - End The Embargo
Let me offer a bit of hopeful prognostication: someday the embargo will go away. Probably not tomorrow, not the next day, not next week, probably not even next year. The embargo hurts the people of Cuba, not the terrible regime (even a kid can understand this concept)."......The Spencerian

Flights To Cuba Out Of Tampa

More Americans will be allowed to travel to Cuba, likely from Tampa International Airport, under changes announced Friday by the Obama administration.
here
The White House said it was easing restrictions to enhance the "free flow of information" and promote the independence of the Cuban people from communist rule. I have been saying this for over 40 years. Without the embargo the Castro brothers would have been gone along time ago. The Miami Cuban Mafia is responsible for the suffering of the cuban people all these years, not the Castros.

Thanks Kathy Castor.

U.S. Cuba Relations

Strategies Of The Past Have Not Worked
Anyone with a limited knowledge of the United States' policy toward Cuba knows it is primarily driven by domestic politics in Miami and Tampa, Florida, and Union City, New Jersey. The policy has far more to do with hatred, retribution, pride and money than it does with Communism and human rights violations.

It is inconceivable to me if all of us worked together our talents and resources would be no match for mediocre members of Congress like Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart, yet we continually lose ground to them and a handful of extremists in the Miami Cuban-American community. The Diaz-Balart types never cared about Cuba's poverty or human rights violations under the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista.

Corrupt Democratic Party Hack Debbie Wasserman Schultz

The DCCC is going to extraordinary lengths to prop up the political careers of Blue Dogs who, as a default position, habitually cross the aisle and vote with the GOP on key issues. The DCCC has tens of millions of dollars ready to deploy and, in a boneheaded strategy devised largely by corrupt Democratic Party hack Debbie Wasserman Schultz, much of it will be used to attempt to save the seats of anti-Choice, antigay, anti-healthcare conservatives who vote with the Republicans.

Rick Scott Welcome To The Family

Ros-Lehtinen, Diaz-Balarts Endorse Rick Scott
Miami's three Republican Cuban-American members of Congress threw their support behind Rick Scott on Monday, despite not seeing eye-to-eye.

Rick Scott will just have to work it out with David Rivera for the nickname Slick.

End The War On The Cuban People

The Miami Cuban Mafia
Five Cuban-American members of Congress expressed concern Friday over reports that the Obama administration is planning to announce rules loosening restrictions on travel and economic aid to Cuba. They asked the president to reconsider........here
Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Robert Menendez, Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Albio Sires.
It's Time To End The Embargo. It Has Been A Total Failure. This Policy Has Failed For The Past 50 Years. Fidel and Raúl Are Doing Just Fine. The Only Ones It Has Hurt Are The Cuban People. We Trade With China, We Trade With Vietnam. Whats Up With Cuba? It's Time We Vote These Right Wingers Out! Mr. Menendez And Mr. Sires, You Guys Are Democrats, You Should Know Better.

Bush In Miami To Attend Fundraiser For The Three Amigos

Mario Diaz-Balart Blames The Iraq War On Bill And Hillary Clinton

The Three Amigos: Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Mario Diaz Balart, and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen
Have been in Congress for years, yet we have little to show for it. The Diaz-Balart boys are two peas in a pod. Their father was Rafael Diaz-Balart, a well-to-do, wheeling, dealing member of the Cuban aristocracy. His sister, Mirta, was married to Fidel Castro. The Diaz-Balart family, along with most of the Cuban aristocracy, were big supporters of Castro until the wheels fell off..........here

Three Corrupt Extremists From Miami

I figured the big news out of south Florida today was going to be about the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce debate that pitted the 3 ultra-reactionary rubber stamps, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen plus the notoriously crooked Diaz-Balart Brothers against Annette Taddeo, Joe Garcia and Raul Martinez........here

Obama in Havana

No, Barack Obama Has Not Traveled To Havana. But His Campaign Has

The brothers Lincoln and Mario Díaz-Balart, along with Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, three Republican members of Congress, recently wrote a letter to the governor of Florida asking him to sign a law that enables the state to paralyze flights to the island and end family visits -- all in the name of consumer protection...........here
Obama was in Miami and said that, if he were elected, he would lift those regulations.

The Republican Party Of Florida

In Communist Party newspaper Monday, Fidel Castro called Obama the "most advanced" candidate in the presidential race, though he also criticized Obama's stance on the Cuba embargo. Miami Republicans Act Of Political Cowardice

Miami's three Cuban-American Republicans in Congress have scrapped plans to participate in a series of debates with their Democratic challengers. But the Republicans said this week that they're not going.........here

David Rivera's Bill

Aruca believes Rivera introduced this bill now "to create a favorable campaign environment for the reelection of the three federal congresspeople, courtesy of the Cuban Republican lawmakers in the state Legislature." In fact, for the first time, the three federal Republican Congress members from Miami will face serious opposition in November from challengers who have a chance to defeat them and who favor lifting restrictions for Cuban-Americans to travel to Cuba......here

The Bush/Ros-Lehtinen Approach

Ileana Ros-Lehtinen is focused on the wrong things. As usual. Now she wants to indict Fidel Castro. While there is no doubt that Castro has done a lot of horrible things over the years and should be brought to justice, but, really, is this the type of thing our representatives should be focused on?.......here
