The Rum Runner

This has always been one of my favorite drinks. It has many names, Planter's Punch, Hurricanes etc. here it is called a Dunk Tank. Some of you are to young to remember Clearwater's famous Kapok Tree restaurant. It served it in a tall souvenir glass which you got to keep. I've had them all over the world and one of the best I've ever had is made right here in Tampa by Kristie at Florida Lanes on N. Florida ave.

Sweetbay Of Tampa Bay

Sweetbay Supermarket is now selling only seafood caught and farmed in sustainable ways to help ensure the long-term survival of the species. The policy announced Tuesday covers 2,500 products sold at stores, from fresh, frozen and canned seafood
to items containing seafood as its primary ingredient, such as soups.

My family and i did not eat tuna for years back in the 80's until they made it dolphin safe. To this day we will not touch Star Kist Tuna. I remember their CEO saying that they were going to go dolphin safe not to help the dolphins but becouse the boycott must of been working and sales were down.

You Can Beat City Hall

Great Job Dana Shores
When Dana Shores residents wanted to keep 23 acres separating their neighborhood from Tampa International Airport's runways as a scenic reserve, they did things by the book: They attended meetings and spoke to airport officials.

Walmart Sues Hillsborough County

A rezoning denial that had been viewed as a major victory for Carrollwood residents who rallied to defeat plans for a Walmart Neighborhood Market has been appealed.
Forget The Waltons, shop local. Try Sweetbay, Publix or the dozens of Mom & Pop stores where employees earn a living wage and are treated with respect and dignity.
