Sierra will be joining the Cyclovia event in Temple Terrace this Sunday. We
will set up a demonstration barrier bike lane to show how it vastly enhances
bicycle safety. And we'll have several electric vehicles on display, too! 56th
Street will be closed north of Busch Blvd to Whiteway from 9 AM to 2 PM to
create a safe, fun thoroughfare where people can walk, run, bike, skate, scoot,
play and just enjoy the city in a whole new way.
Bring the kids and join us for the first
ever Cyclovia Temple Terrace!

Your
representative is standing strong for diplomacy with Iran! Can you make a call?
Last Thursday, 151 House Democrats sent a
clear, powerful, and positive message to President Obama regarding diplomacy
with Iran by signing on to a letter
circulated by Representatives Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Lloyd Doggett
(D-TX), and David Price (D-NC). They said: "Stay the course" and "work toward a
strong and verifiable agreement" between six world powers and
Iran. Representative Kathy Castor was one of them. Call her and thank her.
Florida GOP Senate President Andy Gardiner is telling state senators that taxpayers will pay their legal bills as part of an ongoing lawsuit over state senate districts.
The trial over the senate districts is scheduled for September. The groups contend the districts approved in 2012 violate a voter-approved amendment that says districts cannot be drawn to benefit incumbents or a particular party.
The GOP-controlled Florida Legislature since 2012 has already spent millions defending congressional and legislative maps.here

Whatever you do to another it is as tho you were doing it to Jesus for he said:"In as much as ye have done it into one of the least of these, my brothers, ye have done it unto me." (Matthew 25:40)

The Tampa Police Department's current approach of "proactive" policing victimizes far too many in the Bay Area's Black community. We can most specifically see this manifested in the biking citation and arrest disparities. We are calling for an immediate end to the Bike citation program and an expansion in the current Department of Justice investigation to review the po...licing policies, practices, and arrest in Tampa.
Call Mayor Buckhorn and tell him, "As a citizen in this city, I demand that there be an immediate end to the Bike citation program that disproportionately affects black people in this city. I also call for an immediate expansion of the DOJs investigation to include all arrest and policing practices in Tampa". The new chief has said he will continue this practice. They are getting in trouble for things we all did as kids. Mayor Bob, Jane Castor and Chief Eric Ward we will never let you forget this. You all should be ASHAMED!

Senate Democrats dealt President Barack Obama a stinging setback on trade blocking efforts to begin a full-blown debate on his initiatives. Several Democrats said Obama erred by
pointedly criticizing a leading Democratic foe on trade, Sen. Elizabeth Warren
of Massachusetts, in an interview with Yahoo News. These Democrats said they
bristled when Obama suggested Warren was poorly informed and politically
motivated. Democratic senators said they also are tired of seeing the Democratic
president cozy up to Republicans on trade. here Great job Democrats!
The #1 agenda item of corporate America is passing bad trade deals that hurt
workers and were written by big corporations in secret.
It's sad that President Obama is their biggest ally and is now attacking
Elizabeth Warren:
The trade proposal under consideration was written by giant corporations in
secret. Warren pointed out that provisions (that were leaked) would allow
corporations to overturn our nation's Wall Street reforms and other
regulations. Obama has tried to belittle Warren with insults -- saying she's just wrong
without actually disputing her core points. President Obama has never attacked Republican Leader Mitch McConnell
the way he's attacking Elizabeth Warren. Will you stand up to big corporations
and defend Warren?
On May 18th, a decorated war veteran will face trial for using
medical marijuana. Jared Hunter, desperate to save his own life when prescribed
medications did not work, tried marijuana, and now he faces a jury trial in
Volusia County before the Honorable Terence R. Perkins. here
“It is appalling that a man who risked his life to serve our country and protect
our freedoms now has to fight for his freedom because he chose to use medical
marijuana to treat his PTSD. PTSD is a debilitating condition
specifically listed on the new petition, so when this passes dedicated soldiers
such as Mr. Hunter will have the ability to go to their doctor and receive a
recommendation for medical marijuana." Ben Pollara, Campaign Manager with United for Care.

I saw this woman on a sidewalk yesterday morning. On my way home she was still there. I stopped and asked her didn't she have somewhere to go. She told me she was in the hospital but they could not find anything wrong with her. She said law enforcement took all her money and dumped her there. I asked didn't she have any children that could take care of her. She said she didn't need any help and that god would take care of her. I gave her a few dollars and left. The second pic is of where we think she sleeps. On the sidewalk in front of a closed store. We don't believe, but at times like these we wish The Crist did come back and kick some fucking ass.
On CNN: "It would certainly be better to not have him in the race,(Grayson) tends to sort of rely on hyperbole and invective, and I'm not sure that's the kind of primary which is healthy for us. I think it's a center-right state, I think he is not electable in a general and I think he has the ability to create a pretty divisive primary if he runs," here

[In 2013] Scott said his mother's death changed his perspective and he could no longer "in good conscience" oppose expanding health care coverage to nearly 1 million Floridians.
Scott conceded this week that was all a ruse. He now says his support for Medicaid expansion was a calculated move designed to win support from the Obama administration for the state's proposal to hand over control of Medicaid to private insurance companies. At the time, he denied that his support was tied to a deal with the federal government. here
Donald Trump takes credit for helping thrust Sarasota’s Republican Party into national prominence and making the region a must-stop for some of the most important conservatives in American politics. The U.S. House voted against allowing Veterans Administration (VA) doctors to discuss and recommend medical marijuana to their patients in states where it is legal. But despite the narrow defeat, Kathy Castor voted the right way! Thank your Representative for voting in favor of veteran access to medical marijuana and tell them to support the CARERS Act.
Republicans are baffled by Hillary Clinton’s persistent lead in the polls despite months of bad publicity. the Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released Monday showing Clinton ahead of both Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio by 6 points, Scott Walker by 10, and Rand Paul by 3.
The New York Times/CBS poll released a day later
showed what the GOP is up against:
Only 29 percent of Americans had a favorable view of the Republican Party,
while 43 percent had a positive view of the Democrats. The survey also documented a steady but little-noticed trend: Americans, by their own self-description, are becoming less conservative. here
