Around 6 in 10 U.S. adults in a say prejudice against LGBTQ people in the country is a serious problem today, according to a survey released Wednesday.

The Quinnipiac University survey found that 33 percent say the prejudice is a “very” serious problem, and another 25 percent say it’s “somewhat” serious.

If Ron DeSantis becomes President, the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division would have a new task.

The Florida Governor and 2024 Republican candidate told radio host Hugh Hewitt that the Justice Department would branch out its understanding of civil rights to “do all discrimination” as part of “taking some of these agencies and making sure they’re actually doing the things that we would want.”

One of those “things,” DeSantis noted, would be going after diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
