National Hurricane Center now monitoring 4th area, one of which has 70% chance of development


The National Hurricane Center is now monitoring a fourth area, one of which has a 70% chance of development within the next seven days.

The newest system is located out in the Atlantic, south of two other areas of possible development, according to the National Hurricane Center. Another system has a low chance of development in the western Gulf of Mexico.

Tropical activity starting to increase


Fox 13 meteorologist Jim Weber is watching two areas of disturbed weather. Jim says one area is moving towards the west but is starting to diminish and only has a ten percent chance of turning into a storm. Jim is also watching one system working its way off the coast of Africa. Models say it could weaken over the weekend due to wind shear.

Florida’s Governor is offering a new take on his inoculation against COVID-19 early in the pandemic. He says he got it so he could keep doing his job.

During a press conference with reporters in New England, Gov. Ron DeSantis explained that he got the “one and done” Johnson & Johnson jab so he wouldn’t run the risk of being “out of pocket” during a critical time for the state.

Some Tampa council members have concerns with new budget increasing taxes


Tampa Mayor Jane Castor proposed raising the mileage by 1.0 which would increase taxes for those living in the city.

Tampa city council members expressed concerns about the mayor's proposed budget for 2024.

On Monday evening, the council heard the same concerns from those in the public. During public comment, Tampa residents said the city is getting too expensive and costly. A majority of those who spoke said they don't want to see a tax increase.

Trump charged in Georgia 2020 election probe, his fourth indictment


Former president Donald Trump and 18 others were criminally charged in Georgia on Monday in connection with efforts to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 victory in the state, according to an indictment made public late Monday night.

Trump was charged with 13 counts, including violating the state’s racketeering act, soliciting a public officer to violate their oath, conspiring to impersonate a public officer, conspiring to commit forgery in the first degree and conspiring to file false documents.

Yes, your vote-by-mail request was erased from Florida’s system because of a change made to state law that requires more frequent requests.

Under changes made in 2021 to the state’s election law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, counties must now purge requests after every general election.
