University of Tampa recognized for its plan to increase student voting
The University of Tampa received the Highly Established Action Plan Seal from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. This is the second year the school was recognized, the first in 2022.
ALL IN developed the seal of recognition for higher education institutions with a strong action plan to increase student voting, and promote civic learning and political engagement.

Calls to end Gaza ‘bloodbath’ after Israeli attack kills 274 Palestinians
Several countries and international organisations have condemned the Israeli killing of at least 274 Palestinians during an operation to free four Israeli captives in central Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp.
Authorities in the Gaza Strip on Sunday said at least 698 others were injured in “an unprecedented brutal attack”, some in critical condition, as hospitals struggle to cope with the flow of wounded or dead bodies.
Local group releases new poll regarding Hines-Rays Stadium and Historic Gas Plant Redevelopment Plan
One group gathered on Thursday, claiming the Hines-Rays stadium deal is not a good deal for tax-payers. When it comes to the redevelopment of the Rays Stadium and the Historic Gas Plant District, the current plan includes $50 million for what developers are calling intentional equity, including 1,250 affordable housing units, employment opportunities, and reduced rent for minority-owned businesses. Plus, funding for the Woodson African American Museum. If these goals aren't achieved, Hines-Rays will have to pay the city penalties.

Florida among the worst states for LGBTQ equality, report finds
As the LGBTQ+ community celebrates Pride month this June, they also reflect on a year filled with legal battles and growing restrictions on their rights, particularly those of transgender youth.
A map, created by Out Leadership for its 2024 equality report, shows where LGBTQ+ rights are strengthening and where they are deteriorating, state by state. The organization, which advocates for LGBTQ+ inclusion in business, reports equality scores decreased in 22 states over the last year.
