HATEFUL: New rule designed to protect LGBTQ foster children draws GOP opposition
A new rule requiring child welfare agencies to place LGBTQ children in “environments free of hostility, mistreatment, or abuse” based on the child’s sexual orientation, gender identity or expression is drawing opposition from Republicans.
Sanders calls on Congress to block additional aid to Israel
In a statement on Tuesday, Sanders argued U.S. taxpayers “must no longer be complicit in destroying the lives of innocent men, women, and children in Gaza,” calling the conflict “Netanyahu’s Illegal and Immoral War Against the Palestinian People.”
“The issue we face with Israel-Gaza is not complicated,” Sanders wrote. “While we recognize that Hamas’ barbaric terrorist attack began this war, we must also recognize that Israel’s military response has been grossly disproportionate, immoral, and in violation of international law.”

Major US offshore wind farm sends first power to grid

An offshore wind project in New England that is expected to be the U.S.’s first large-scale offshore wind farm for the first time delivered power to the electric grid.
The Vineyard Wind project — located off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts — sent power to the New England grid during initial testing.
When it is completed, the project is expected to have 62 wind turbines that generate enough power for more than 400,000 homes in Massachusetts.

Tampa Pickleball Crew brings indoor courts to Ybor's Gas Worx district
The recreation sensation pickleball is coming to Ybor City’s Gas Worx district - in a big way.
In the first half of January, the Tampa Pickleball Crew is opening an eight-court indoor pickleball facility in a converted warehouse at 1701 E. Second Ave owned by Gas Worx developer Darryl Shaw.
