Florida Democrats vow to ‘Take Back Florida’

Florida Democrats kicked off a new $1 million investment in voter registration, launching a statewide “Take Back Florida Tour” on Wednesday.

The goal of the tour, Democrats shared, is to close the gap in voter registration between the Republican and Democratic parties, which has only widened since Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis handily won his bid for re-election as governor last year, besting Democratic opponent Charlie Crist (a former Republican himself) by a long shot.

Progressives Disappointed With Kamala Harris

When Fernando García met with Vice President Kamala Harris in June to discuss the humanitarian crisis at the southern border, he left hopeful she could deliver major immigration policy reforms.

Months later, his optimism has evaporated. here

Tampa Democrats Failure

They let a republican (Cindy Stuart) beat a Democrat (Kevin Beckner). Not like they weren't warned, (HERE and HERE
at what was at stake.
---
They are gushing over a GOP leaning (DINO), Pam Bondi loving candidate (Nancy Millan) over a lifelong democrat.
---
There are 357,236 Dems
in this county
---
Beckner lost by 14,059 votes
Where were the LGBT and Anti TBX voters?
Don't blame the Opposition, blame yourself.
Even with the the GOP voter suppression efforts going on right now you couldn't find time to cast your vote? Shame on you!

DNC trying to SILENCE AOC

AOC is only being given 1 minute to speak at the DNC's Democratic national convention, even though much more time is being given to Republicans like John Kasich and hasbeens like Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton. This is despite the fact that according to a new CBS poll, Democratic voters want to hear from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex more than they do from the Clintons or from Kasich. The reason she is being included is to prevent people from calling out the Democratic Party directly, but they want to only give her 60 seconds because they don't want her to do what Barack Obama did in his 2004 DNC keynote speech, which helped make him President. The DNC knows AOC may run for President in 2024, and people like Cornel West have called her a 2024 frontrunner.
If Kamala Harris is going be the next nominee after Biden's one term, they want to make sure AOC isn't in a position to primary her.

Democratic Party Trap

We worked hard to take over the Democratic Party from within we failed. now we must extricate ourselves from this trap. Your hard work now can be put to a movement that is not distracted by Party politics is issue based and not led by a politician. we must all have solidarity to this movement we will need to work outside of the Democratic Party.

Biden Is Everything The Democrats Are

Joe Biden is not an “imperfect candidate” for the Democrats. He is the perfect candidate, because he’s everything the party is: Demented. Decrepit. Bloodthirsty. Corrupt. Cronyistic. Authoritarian. Reactionary. Rapey. He is exactly what they deserve. He is exactly what they are. HERE

#DEMEXIT Tampa Bay

Dear DNC: This is our Declaration of Independence from your Corporate Party

We, the people, stand together to declare our independence from corporate politics and a two-party system funded by the very businesses and billionaires that exploit us — the working class, the poor, and our planet. We understand that both the Democrats and Republicans (private corporations themselves) are incapable of reform, and have made it abundantly clear that they will ALWAYS choose profits over people. Nina Tatlock's Letter To Dems

Yesterday I called and sent email to our Democratic Party leadership. I thought I would share what I wrote in case any of you might like to call and email also.
This is what I just Emailed to Chuck Schumer (also called Speaker Pelosi.

Dear Senator Schumer,
I would like to request that leadership of the Democratic Party please put Senator Bernie Sanders and the Democratic Progressive Caucus in charge of the response to this corona virus pandemic. We need the full throttle of bold initiatives being put forward at this time. This is a time to ask for the most that our Federal Government can give toward the Constitutionally called for General welfare. This is a time to have a government that works for the people who are not corporations.

Sincerely,

Nina Tatlock
Democratic Precinct Captain in Florida
President, Democratic Progressive Caucus of Tampa Bay

Time To Toss Some Ass

"Despite growing support for a climate-focused presidential debate, the Democratic National Committee just announced they have no current plans to allow a serious debate
on climate solutions.
Even worse, they intend to ban presidential candidates from DNC-backed debates if they agree to participate in any climate debate not authorized by the DNC.
So all in all, ask your DNC member if they support this action, if they do, let’s toss them out on their ass!" Chris Cano

The Democratic Party Piss Off Its Youngest Organizers

Sixty-eight chapters of the College Democrats are urging voters not to donate to the party’s congressional-campaign arm after it instituted a new policy to protect incumbents from primary challenges.

The protesting students say that the change will deter young candidates and people from historically marginalized communities from running for office.

“As College Democrats, we did a lot of work to build the new Democratic majority, This is a policy that’s going to silence
a lot of voices like ours.”

Hank Sparks, the 20-year-old president of the Harvard College Democrats, which is spearheading the boycott.

Democratic Party Heading Toward a Pyrrhic Victory

By supporting corporate-friendly candidates and policies, Congressional Democratic leaders are moving closer and closer toward open warfare with their party’s base.
-----
A majority of Democratic voters, led by black, brown, and female Democrats, told pollsters in a recent study that they supported “movements within the Democratic Party to take it even further to the left and oppose the current Democratic leaders.”  A new study by Data For Progress shows that “the Democratic Party’s base has moved left” and that voters overall “are ready for unabashed progressive politicians.
-----
And yet, as if determined to block their own party’s progress, House Democratic operatives have been attacking progressive candidates in public and working to undermine them in private. here

I Am Now A Democrat

Only took me 42 years!
Please no hate mail or comments. The blog stays as is. This is just temporary so that I can vote for Andrew Gillum and Tamika Lyles. Hopefully by 2020 Florida will be an  open primary state and I won't have to do it again to vote for Bernie.
-----
I registered to vote in 1976 as an Independent (Now NPA). I never thought much of party politics. A fellow local blogger became an American citizen (No not from a shit hole country) in 2016 just so she could vote for Bernie. I should of done it then, but I didn't. A friend has shown me the importance of being able to vote in the primaries. So I am not going to let that happen again.
-----
If you want to take back our government you should too.
By the time the general comes, it is too late.
-----
Thank you Nina!
