Florida GOP Victor Christ and Gwen Myers

Gwen Myers takes Victor Christ's money. The guy who voted to keep the
Confederate monument.
---
The same Victor Christ who appointed David McAllister to the Diversity Board. The same David McAllister who doxxed most of us who protested in support of removing
the monument!

Thanks For Nothing Ken Hagan and Victor Crist

Ken Hagan “is the only candidate who has invested billions in our county infrastructure.”

Victor Crist, brags in a mailer about delivering “billions” in new road construction to “alleviate traffic.”

Both men have been on the Commission for a long time, and if they’ve directed so much dough and effort into upgrading Hillsborough transportation, shouldn’t our traffic be “alleviated” by now —
at least a little bit?

is not the case  here

Victor Crist's Racket Exposed

This guy received tens of thousands of dollars from developers who profit from sprawl, and then he votes for sprawl.
-----
The developers for ONE of the huge sprawl projects he approved donated $8,000 to his re-election bid. Of the $78,000 Crist has raised for this election, $22,000 are from clients of ONE big developer-lobbyist. And besides that ONE lobbyist, Crist’s whole campaign donor list is a Who’s Who of developers and special interests.
-----
He didn't know. He blamed it on
two little old ladies. here
-----
Check out our friend  Mariella Smith,, she has been fighting sprawl for decades. and she doesn't take brides. We can vouch for that, check out her history on this blog.
-----
She is not getting the big bucks from developers that Victor Crist gets. She is running a grassroots campaign.
 She needs our help.
-----
"Unlike Victor Crist, let me assure you I DO look at who writes checks, and each and every one of your contributions is important to our campaign."

Hillsborough County Sprawlers

Sandy Murman
Ken Hagan
Victor Crist
-----
Business as usual for a commission that just three months ago appeared ready to hold the line on further suburban sprawl. And challengers to several commissioners seeking re-election this year say the vote is evidence that
change is needed.
-----
In one of the first tests of Hillsborough County’s stated commitment to fight sprawl, commissioners are giving a green light to a contentious new suburban development in east county.

-----
These folks are up for re-election.
Check out who we could have....
Sky White, Kimberly Overman,
Angela Birdsong,
Mariella Smith, Elvis Piggot

Victor Crist New Spokesperson For Trader Joe's?

Wouldn't it be great to have a Trader Joe's in the north end of our county in Carrollwood
Trader Joe's website has a page devoted to soliciting recommendations for new store locations. I believe a new store on the SW corner of West Village Drive and Ehrlich Road would be a fantastic addition to the Carrollwood community. A Trader Joe's store could add a new dimension to the shopping needs of the area and fill a void in an empty shopping center that has been the focal point of contentious redevelopment plans. I have personally reached out to Trader Joe's in the past and now believe that with strong community input and support, we can get serious consideration. If you feel strongly for the addition of a good neighborhood partner and positive economic impact in the Carrollwood area, please consider going to the Trader Joe's website (link provided below) and adding your comments.
This is what I wrote:
There is perfect site in Carrollwood on the SW corner of Ehrlich Road and West Village Drive in Tampa Florida.  Plenty of parking, a large available site and easy access.   The thousands of nearby neighbors would be strong supporters.  Please feel free to contact me as I would like to make a stronger pitch and let you know about our community.  Please visit our website at http://www.carrollwoodvillage.com.  Thank you for your consideration

The 6-1 vote came after commissioners heard from several residents who pleaded against caps, citing concerns about access for patients and lack of competition driving up prices.

Hillsborough County Right Wing Infestation

Florida GOP County Commissioner Sandy Murman says she is "probably" going to leave her district seat to run for a countywide seat in 2018. Murman faces a 2020 term limit. Jumping to a countywide seat would restart her term limit clock. here

DEMS BEWARE
Florida GOP Victor Crist and Ken Hagan could also be seeking new seats that would enable them to avoid term limits.

Letters From GOP Hillsborough County Commissioners

Letter I sent our county commissioners
on the issue of transit.

"I have been a HART rider for over 10 years. More roads does not help me at all. STOP spending our money on roads. We want more buses and rail. We have one of the worst transit systems in the country. With the exception of Ms. Kemp are you all in developers pockets?"
-----
Thank you for contacting the office of Commissioner Crist about funding for public transit.  I will be sure to share your thoughts and concerns on the issue with the Commissioner.
Sincerely,
Chris Heintz
Legislative Aide
Commissioner Crist, District 2
-----
Thank you so much for contacting our office regarding Transit. Your input regarding this issue is important  to the Commissioner. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and opinions with us. Have a great day and please don’t hesitate to call our office if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Ms. Eli Rodriguez
Aide to County Commissioner Al Higginbotham
Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners
-----
Thank you for your email. Commissioner Hagan is just as frustrated as you are about the need for funding adequate transit in Tampa/Hillsborough county. That is why he was the only Republican on the Board to support placing the sales tax referendum on the ballot last year. Unfortunately, a majority of board members opposed that plan.

The hard truth is that we have billions of dollars in unmet infrastructure needs in Hillsborough county and the only way to begin to address that is to have a dedicated funding source of tax dollars—this has been very hard to come by. But Commissioner Hagan is committed to continue fighting to address our transportation needs in a meaningful and rational way. In the meantime, the Board will soon finalize a transportation plan that will dedicate $700 million over 10 years to improve existing roads and provide congestion relief where possible in Hillsborough county. Feel free to share with us any questions you may have concerning this plan. And please let us know if we can ever be of service to you. Have a great day.

Corporate Welfare: Hillsborough County Pays $350,000 For 30 New Jobs

The exemption for NewSouth Window Solutions would save the company nearly $50,000 a year in ad valorem taxes and cost the county nearly $350,000 in lost revenue over the seven-year proposal. In return, NewSouth would have to create at least 30 new jobs in Hillsborough County. here
-----------
The Hillsborough County Commission
unanimously approved
this giveaway!
---------
“This is a great story of a manufacturer expanding in our community,” said Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandra Murman.
Murman said criticism to past incentives stemmed from a lack of accountability. The NewSouth deal would require the company to create at least 30 jobs or the deal is off.

GOP Hillsborough County Commissioners: "A Profile In Cowardice"

Tea Party rules around here!
The county commission voted 4-3 on Wednesday night to reject the proposed 30-year, half-cent sales tax, refusing to put it on the November ballot and letting voters decide.
here
----------
"Sadly tonight a majority of the County Commission has refused to give the citizens of Hillsborough County an opportunity to decide for themselves whether their future includes a better transportation system. Rather than a profile in courage this vote was a profile in cowardice.Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn
----------
"I am very disappointed that after years of work this board was not able to build consensus, I do look forward to the continued dialogue at our upcoming meeting and I'm hopeful that we might still be able to come to a consensus on such an important community issue as transportation." Kevin Beckner
----------
Matthew Durshimer was all for the 30-year sales tax. He said it was the only way Hillsborough would attract corporate relocations and a younger workforce. Only the 30-year tax, he argued, would allow the county to build a real transit system. "And if the answer is no, then expect all the problems of today to get worse tomorrow," Durshimer said, "and expect all the young professionals like myself to leave this commununity.
----------
Sandy Murman wants the board to hold yet another transportation workshop in the near future. It passed unanimously. GO Hillsborough was meant to fail from the begining. It was all a sham. here

We can start with Murman! here
Please note, it was smart what they did. It would not have passed.
To much for roads and not enough for rail.
