Floridians for Clean Water Rally in Tallahassee

On February 18, 400 activists gathered together at the Floridians for Clean Water & Amendment 1 Rally on the Historic Front Steps of the Capitol Building in Tallahassee. The crowds delivered a resounding message to the Governor and the legislature. here

Tourist Beware, Flesh-Eating Bacteria in Florida Waters

Health officials in Florida 
issued new warnings about high levels of a flesh-eating bacterium in the ocean and other recreational waters in the state. here

Florida doesn't typically require beach shutdowns for bacteria infestations; in fact, 59 percent of its beaches aren't tested for bacteria levels; the others rely on federal funding to carry out periodic tests. But hey, only the strong survive in
 Rick Scott's Florida!

The Bob Graham Land and Water Legacy Amendment

Florida voters will get a chance to steer as much as $10 billion toward environmental efforts over the next two decades through a ballot measure officially set Thursday for the November ballot. The Water and Land Legacy campaign’s proposal was officially designated as Amendment 1.
