A Little Stogie Fearmongering

Remember Ronda Storms
Tampa's PRIDE used to hold the distinction of the state's largest LGBT pride event. From 2005 to 2013, Hillsborough County enforced a ban on acknowledging, participating or promoting anything to do with gay pride events. The ban was spearheaded by then GOP County Commissioner Ronda Storms

It wasn't repealed until we elected
progressive democrat Kevin Beckner.
---
Do we want to go back to that?
Progressives have been making great progress with the addition of Kemp, Smith and Overman.
---
Now they have to it again!
Re-elect Pat Kemp and add Gwen Myers

Majority rules!

Hillsborough County GOP Jim Waurishuk: You Will Be Murdered

Every American better wake up. If we loose (sic) this country you will loose (sic) your life. If you’re a Republican, Conservative, Democrat Trump supporter, etc. — you will be murdered. You will be dragged from your burning home and be beat to death. This is a fact. This what they stand for,” Waurishuk wrote
 about protesters. HERE

Florida GOP War On Hillsborough County Voters

It takes some nerve for the Republican meddlers in the Florida House to seek to overturn the will of Hillsborough voters who overwhelmingly supported a one-cent sales tax for countywide transportation improvements. The House’s intervention in a legal challenge is an overreach legally and politically, and it’s an insult to residents. It’s also further proof that Tallahassee knows no limits when it comes to ignoring referendum results and interfering
in local decisions. HERE

Tampa Fake Hepatitis A Scare

Hamburger Mary’s owner Kurt King accused Hillsborough County health officials of inciting a fake Hepatitis A scare and shared test results he says proves his worker never tested positive for the disease.
---
“I want to know why the health department did this to me.”
---
“Over 400 people in the state of Florida have Hepatitis A,” said King. “Where do they all work at? Why weren’t they put on the news? Why weren't their restaurants and businesses destroyed like mine? That’s what
I want to know.”
---
“I think they targeted us because we’re a gay restaurant, gay-owned, popular
gay restaurant.” HERE
---
Dr. Douglas Holt, head of the Hillsborough County Health Department, insists the public has no right to know the names of those four restaurants with
infected workers. HERE

Liberals Rule Hillsborough County

Democrats control the seven-member board for the first time since 2004. And in other races in Hillsborough, including two local sales tax referendums, voters backed liberal-leaning causes that could change the face of everything from transportation, growth and support for public schools to Tallahassee’s reach over local government. here

Cornering The Marijuana Market In Tampa

Remember this?
Hillsborough County Commissioners say they will only allow 13 dispensaries.
---
"This all just seems like going to an extreme to the benefit of monopolies."
Commissioner Pat Kemp
---
A growing number of commissioners are saying capping new businesses will protect patients and residents.
---
Lobbyists for San Felasco Nurseries, one of the state's seven approved growers, huddled with several commissioners, including Stacy White, who had spearheaded the county's medical marijuana efforts, and Ken Hagan, who would ultimately request the re-vote.

"This is our community," said Commissioner Sandy Murman, one of several board members whose opinion has shifted since March. "And safety is first." here

"Ken Hagan, Stacy White, Sandy Murman, Commissioner Victor D. Crist, Al Higginbotham y’all need to take a deep look into your souls and speak among one another."
