In Grief of Memorial Day

Honor those who have fallen in war by grieving for them but do not celebrate any aspect of war. In this age of endless war, the concept that our wars are protecting our country and our democracy has been long ago abandoned by most people in this country. The people in this country are seeing no benefit from these wars. We all know that now.

Those who have experienced the worse of war will tell you that they do not seek or want any praise or celebration for what they have endured. Listen to them. The lesson they have to teach is that a war should be condemned not after it has cost so many lives but before it has begun. If young men and women realized that there is little or no honor in war, those corporate interests who orchestrate these endless wars would not so easily find so much fodder to send off to suffer and die in them.
