The whole reason I have bad credit is because I ran up a lot of debt running for Congress for a year and a half. For that primary, I quit my full-time job because I knew that to win at 25 years old, I’d need to be a full-time candidate: 7 days a week, 10-12 hours a day.
As a candidate, you can’t give yourself a paycheck until the very end of your campaign. For most of the run, you have no money coming in unless you work a second job. For me, I drove for Uber at night, but that still wasn’t enough to pay for my living expenses.

Independent vs. In Their Pockets
I miss you, friends! Sorry to have taken a lot of time without adding my take to this wonderful blog.
While I have a great deal of respect for Independents — such as Angus King, Jesse Ventura, and Bernie Sanders — Sinema’s recent move is a ploy, as she has voted for her elite donors and will continue to do so (her words, paraphrased). The Democratic Party might have to wait for 2026 or 2028 for a wider majority considering the map in 2024. We need to organize and govern with more tact and compassion. It is a trying task when there are roadblocks
such as this.
