Tampa Bay Rays to stay? MLB team to announce new stadium deal in downtown St. Pete
After years of back and forth regarding the fate of the Tampa Bay Rays — whether they would stay in St. Petersburg or build a new stadium elsewhere — it looks like the Rays may be here to stay.
St. Petersburg city spokesperson Erica Riggins confirmed the Tampa Bay Rays are set to announce a deal Tuesday for a new stadium downtown. The Tampa Bay Times was the first to report the news.

Hundreds of ‘air taxies’ to be manufactured in Ohio: governor
A new manufacturing plant to build electric planes that can take off and land vertically will be built in Dayton, Ohio — the birthplace of aviation.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) and Joby Aviation announced the agreement Monday, which promises to deliver up to 500 aircraft per year at the Dayton International Airport and support up to 2,000 jobs. The 140-acre site for the manufacturing facility will be located at a site near the airport, which is also near the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and the headquarters of the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratories.

Thousands of climate activists march in NYC, calling on Biden to declare climate emergency
Tens of thousands of protestors kicked off a march Sunday in New York City, advocating for an end to fossil fuels while calling on President Biden to declare a climate emergency.
Hundreds of organizations, climate advocates, actors and political leaders attended the March to End Fossil Fuels ahead of New York’s Climate Week, which coincides with a special United Nations summit Wednesday focused on the climate crisis.
The collaboration behind the March to End Fossil Fuels said it is calling on Biden to stop all federal approvals for new fossil fuel projects, phase out fossil fuels on public lands and waters, while declaring a climate emergency.

California goes after ‘Big Oil’ companies with lawsuit, citing years of deception
California is suing five big oil companies for “lying about climate change,” the governor’s office announced Saturday.
“For more than 50 years, Big Oil has been lying to us – covering up the fact that they’ve long known how dangerous the fossil fuels they produce are for our planet. It has been decades of damage and deception,” Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said in a press release Saturday.
