Florida citizens to contact our state Legislative Leaders Offices, BY TELEPHONE, starting now to urge them to adopt redistricting legislation that abides by the state Constitution's prohibitions against political gerrymandering and minority discrimination (i.e., the Fair Districts amendments added by citizens' initiative in 2010). The LWV is worried that in spite of Florida's rapidly growing minority populations documented by the 2020 Census, the number of minority legislators could ultimately be kept stagnant or actually decreased in the redistricting maps that must be approved by the Legislature this session and would affect elections until 2032. here
