In March, President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador announced the country had accepted more than 250 deportees from the United States. The group was made up mostly of alleged members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, as well as some Salvadoran citizens. The men were sent to what is considered the largest prison in the Americas: the Center for the Confinement of Terrorism, or CECOT. more
