Leader of La Corporación, Miami's Infamous Cuban Mafia, Released From Federal Prison

For decades, José Miguel Battle Sr. ran La Corporación, a ruthless organized-crime syndicate also known as the Cuban Mafia. It made more than a billion dollars on gambling rings and used arson, beatings, and assassins to deal with its enemies. His son, José Miguel Battle Jr., rose through the ranks to help run the criminal enterprise as the family became one of the richest in Miami. here

Miami Cuban Mafia

Cuba Embargo Miami Interference

In 1989, the Soviet Union and its eastern bloc fell apart, literally overnight. The impact in Cuba was immediate and dramatic. Within six months, Cuba lost more than 70% of its international trade. Over the next five years, the island’s economy shrank by half. (In comparison, at the height of the Great Depression from 1929 to 1933, the US economy shrank by 30%.) The “special period in times of peace” took a toll across the island. Food and fuel shortages, electrical blackouts, lack of medicines – every aspect of Cuban life was affected.

Miami Interference

Allied with Miami’s Cuban-American mafia and its proliferating NGGOs (non-governmental ‘governmental’ organizations), social media is playing a new role largely unknown in the early 1990s. One particularly public group stands out. Cuba Decide (spelled the same in English and Spanish) is front and center. Their easily recognizable blue and white graphics were present at several demonstrations across the island on July 11. MORE

Bob (El Alcalde) Buckhorn Of The MCM

Bob Buckhorn’s recent trip to China invoked charges of hypocrisy from critics, who compared his very different public stance when it comes to doing business with Cuba. here

As a member of The Miami Cuban Mafia, El Alcalde as he is called by the family doing business with Cuba is unacceptable.

Trump Supports The Miami Cuban Mafia

Trump told supporters in Miami on Friday that if elected, he would reverse President Obama’s steps to normalize relations with Cuba. The candidate’s comments are closer in tone to the blistering prescriptions of Marco Rubio– a Cuban-American senator from Florida called El Guapo by the family. who has served as the voice of the MCM. here

After 50 Years Miami Cubans Finally Figure It Out

Earlier this month, nearly a year to the day President Barack Obama shocked Cuban Americans with the news that the U.S. would reestablish relations with the Castro regime
----------
A group of Cuban-American business people, almost all from Miami, quietly traveled to the island to see for themselves what, if anything, had changed. Most of the 10 men — even a couple of otherwise  staunch conservatives — returned convinced
that stronger ties to the U.S. would help Cubans. here

Cuban Spies In Ybor City

Everybody wants the Cuban consulate established in Ybor City. Much of the Tampa Bay area business and political establishment and the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners. Then along comes these two wild and crazy Hillsborough Republicans.
Danny Alvarez and E.J. Otero.
----------
Alvarez said: “I am quite sick and tired of the Tampa Chamber of Commerce and its like pushing a money-driven agenda veiled in false promises of freedom for the Cuban people. It’s amazing how blind one can become after a few mojito-laced walks through Ol’ Havana on “fact-finding” missions guided
by a government handler.”
And then Otero makes a fool of himself with this:
"If a Cuban consulate was established in Ybor City, potential spies for the Cuban government could end residing just four miles away from
Mac Dill Air Force Base." here
Mr. Otero you gotta lay off those John Grisham novels!
Maybe we should make them members of the
Miami Cuban Mafia

They can join Mayor Bob

Tampa Mayor Supports The MCM

Tampa mayor Bob Buckhorn is in no hurry to court Cuba. He has taken the position of the Uber- Right Wing "Miami Cuban Mafia". His aloofness is at odds with most in Tampa, from the business chamber to other elected officials, many of whom have visited Cuba already and have been actively pushing for better relations with Havana. Could it be that Buckhorn's antipathy is calculated for a speculated run for governor in 2018, where he would appeal more to South Florida's Cuban exiles? I am sure he knows that polls show a majority of Cuban-Americans say the U.S. should end its embargo of Cuba.

On the other side of the pond the great mayor of St. Pete Rick Kriseman is a player. He didn't hide his glee earlier this week when the United States and Cuba reopened their long-closed embassies. "This can only mean great things for the Sunshine City and the Tampa Bay area," Kriseman said on Twitter and Facebook, where he repeated his intent to visit Cuba. He even wants to steal the Cuban consulate office from Ybor City. here

Marco Rubio Not Cuba's Favorite Son

This should not come as a surprise. Rubio is a reactionary fanatic who demagogues incessantly about the evils of the Cuban government. He supports illegal and immoral policies that cause vast damage to the Cuban economy and needless suffering by the Cuban people.

But Rubio cannot accept that Cubans’ nearly unanimous rejection of his right-wing politics might mean he is badly mistaken in his Manichean view of the Cuban socioeconomic system. Rubio wears Cubans’ disapproval of him as a badge of honor. For Rubio, Cubans are incapable of independent judgement. If the Cuban people are against him, it means they must be brainwashed
by the evil Castro regime.

Miami Cuban Mafia Trying To Stop Obama's Cuba Normalization

President Obama’s announcement last week that the U.S. will restore diplomatic relations with communist Cuba on July 20 – and will open an embassy there a few days after – is angering the MCM. Their options to stop the Administration are limited. But they’re moving against Obama’s new engagement policy nonetheless, and it’s shaping up as one of the summer’s big political battles. here

No Love For Rubio In Cuba

"He wants to kill us!"
 Alain Marcelo

"If Marco Rubio becomes president, we're done for. He's against Cuba in every possible way. Hillary Clinton understands much more the case of Cuba. Rubio and these Republicans, they are
still stuck in 1959."

Florida's Culture Of Corruption

Florida’s federal lawmakers and their staffs took 103 privately sponsored trips in 2014 valued at more than $350,000. Foreign destinations included Sweden, Peru and Japan. In a number of cases, relatives came along and had their expenses covered. here

Topping the list was Rep. Ander Crenshaw, R-Jacksonville.
Other top travelers at a private group’s expense include
Rep.Ted Deutch, D-West Boca Raton ($20,713),
Sarasota's Rep Vern Buchanan

Mario (Frado) Diaz-Balart Is Out Of Touch And Should Be Out Of Office!

This past June 18th the House Appropriations Committee passed its FY 2016 Financial Services Appropriations bill. It contains three "Cuba-specific" prohibitions that were drafted by one of the most out-of-touch members of Congress - Mario Diaz-Balart. These prohibitions are a threat to the universally lauded advancements in U.S.-Cuba relations and seek to effectively end president Obama's highly successful "people-to-people" policy that has generated interest among all Americans to go to Cuba and see for themselves the devastating effects of the embargo. These measures will also hurt Cubans on the island who have benefited by the influx of tourism.

How can Diaz-Balart claim he is a champion for the Cuban people when 97% of them are in favor of normalization? His judgement is clouded by his family's involvement with Fulgencio Batista, a dictator who suspended democracy in Cuba. Regarding Cuba, it's personal with him and that long-standing vendetta is getting in the way of the inevitable process of normalization. here

Rep. Mario (Frado) Diaz-Balart

House Republicans voted Thursday to keep restrictions on Americans seeking to travel to Cuba. The Republican provision is the handiwork of Rep. Mario (Frado) Diaz-Balart, a top Lieutenant in The Miami Cuban Mafia. The White House has threatened to veto the bill.
