Plan reveals erasure of Just Elementary long before school board's vote


When the Hillsborough County Public Schools board voted 4-3 in April to close Just Elementary in West Tampa, outrage overflowed into the community.

However, 10 Investigates found long before board members approved the plan from Hillsborough County Superintendent Addison Davis, a 2015 redevelopment plan from the Tampa Housing Authority and the City of Tampa foreshadowed the school would eventually be gone.

FBI raids Lynn Hurtak’s home after husband named on search warrant


FBI agents have raided the home of Tampa City Council member Lynn Hurtak and seized property belonging to her husband, Tim Burke.

Only Burke was named on the search warrant, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

Trump loyalists are warning current staffers about leaving for the DeSantis campaign.

"Members of former President Donald Trump's inner circle are turning on each other as the group that had been a unified team in the 2020 election faces defections to the soon-to-be-declared campaign of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis",  reported The Daily Beast on Friday.

Internet Cuts and Riot Troops Repress Protesters in Cuba


A group of protesters reached the PCC municipal headquarters in Caimanera, Guantanamo, and chanted: “Down with the communist system!”

Hundreds of Cubans took to the streets to protest asking for “freedom” in the municipality of Caimanera, Guantanamo, on Saturday afternoon. Several videos circulating on networks, as well as live broadcasts through Facebook, recorded the demonstration, where women and young people predominated.

Black-owned businesses eligible for state loan program


Florida is home to more than 3 million businesses, but less than 10 percent are Black-owned. However, a state program is hoping to change that. 

The state is rolling out a program once again that streamlines the process for Black-owned businesses to get a loan, and many say access to additional funding is that extra push to reach the other side of success.

Texas mall shooting: Shooter dead, multiple victims reported

Law enforcement is investigating an active shooter situation at an outdoor outlet mall in Allen, Texas, Saturday.

WFAA television reported that police on the scene said there were multiple victims, including children. The Collin County Sheriff said the shooter is also dead, WFAA reported.
