Florida Frackers Not Giving Up

Florida GOP House members say the possibility of a fracking ban is dead for the 2017 Legislative Session. here
----------
“You never say never, but now we’re saying it looks like that will be next year,” Florida GOP Mike Miller
----------
Florida Fracker Ray Rodrigues says that a scientific study is required. Rodrigues has previously said that it would be “foolish” to ban the practice without any scientific evidence.

Floridians Defeat The Florida Frackers

Thanks to Floridians like you, communities throughout our state will be able to protect their land and water by banning fracking. Earlier today, the sponsor of the dangerous fracking bill,
Florida Fracker Garrett Richter withdrew SB 318 from the Senate Appropriations Committee saying
"I didn't have the votes."
Give yourselves a hand Florida. This didn't happen by accident. Thousands of Floridians from every corner of our state spoke loudly and clearly, putting daily pressure on their elected representatives in the legislature. It worked. here

Spineless Florida Frackers Want To Sabotage Florida’s Future

There is no reason to compromise Florida’s scarce water supplies to help Big Oil frack. If senators want to sabotage Florida’s future, there’s no better way than to pass Senate Bill 318 – a sure recipe for disaster! Voters should ask senators why they continue to ignore their constituency and vote for a bill not in
Florida’s best interest.

54 percent of Floridians want a ban

One senate chair limited those testifying on fracking to 30 seconds, warning not to talk about “fracking.” (Don’t bother him with facts – he’s not interested.) Many yielded their seconds to Pennsylvanians who had come to enlighten legislators on how fracking had devastated their beautiful state.

Presidente Obama Welcome To Miami

Pres. you could not have come visit us at a better time. The Florida Democratic Party sucks. You want your Legacy to stay intact, you need to stop supporting Debbie Wasserman Schultz and have a very serious talk with her. You guys are trying to cram an Ex-Republican (Murphy) down our throats. Florida INC. has kept us from your Obamacare, we don't have high speed rail between Tampa and Orlando that you wanted to buy us, they are polluting our water, the Florida Frackers are doing everything they can to destroy our way lilfe. Florida DOT is attacking Tampa. While you are here talk to our leader Susan Smith and please see if you can talk the Mayor of Miami Beach into running for governor. here
Again, welcome to Miami. Lets hope our grand-kids can enjoy it too.

Florida Frackers Not Giving Up

Bills that would allow energy companies to frack in Florida died last spring, when the regular legislative session imploded over health-care issues.
But they’re back.
The two Republican lawmakers who sponsored the legislation, Sen. Garrett Richter of Naples and Rep. Ray Rodrigues of Estero, have filed new bills (SB 318 and HB 191) that would amend state laws on the exploration and production of oil and gas in the state.
----------
Democratic lawmakers, meanwhile, have put forward their own bills to ban fracking. The legislation (SB 166 and HB 19) is sponsored by Sens. Darren Soto of Orlando, Dwight Bullard of Miami and Jeff Clemens of Lake Worth and Reps. Evan Jenne of Dania Beach and Lori Berman of Lantana. Going a step further, Sen. Jeremy Ring, D-Parkland, wants voters to consider banning fracking through a constitutional amendment.

Tom Lee’s home county has just come out against a fracking bill that will get its next hearing in that committee; on Wednesday the Hillsborough County Commission passed a resolution to oppose the bill to study and regulate hydraulic fracturing at the same time it forbids local governments from banning the drilling practice, as many have done. here

Florida Frackers: Counties Fight Back

Dozens of Florida cities and counties oppose a plan to give the state control over the oil and gas exploration process known as fracking. Two Republican legislators, Rep. Florida Frackers Attack On Environment Continues

A Senate committee last week approved a bill that would make it easier for companies to use fracking technology to drill for oil and gas in the state. here

Florida Frackers

File bills that would prevent communities from regulating fracking.
----------
On Sept. 17, Sen. Garrett Richter, R-Naples, introduced SB 318 (aka, "Regulation of Oil and Gas Resources"). The bill summary is completely blunt about what it's proposing: "Preempting the regulation of all matters relating to the exploration, development, production, processing, storage, and transportation of oil and gas."
----------
Meanwhile, over in the House, Rep. Ray Wesley Rodriques, R-Fort Myers, filed a bill the same day that would do essentially the same thing as SB 318. Rodrigues' bill, HB 191, declares that it's the state's job to regulate all things relating to the oil and gas industry, "to the exclusion of all existing and future ordinances or regulations relating thereto adopted by any county, municipality, or other political subdivision of the state.

Hey, Ft. Myers and Naples. We got your back!
