Swimmers were advised to avoid the water near Cedar Island in Taylor County and Shired Island in Dixie County for almost all of 2006. Water quality in those areas exceeded acceptable bacteria levels in 89 percent and 85 percent of tests, respectively. Florida's northern beaches have been the victim of pollution by the Buckeye Paper mill for too long!! UF will soon be hosting a meeting that could give Buckeye state funding to further their pollution.. come out and help put a stop to Buckeye's attack on Florida's beaches and end this corporate bull sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!
BUCKEYE MUST BE STOPPED!!!!!!! The beaches are only one aspect of buckeye's pollution... the rivers and sea grass bed of "Big Bends" have been damaged as well!!!
