I've heard of Hometown Democracy. From what I understand, not even the mainstream environmental groups like Audubon or 1000 Friends have come out in support of it, which makes sense. After all, protecting green spaces and environmentally sensitive areas requires years of carefuly planning. If Hometown passes, we can expect community planning to take place in the voting booth and on the campaign trail. If recent history is any indicator, that means those with the most money (developers) will get their way. There's no way this is good for Florida or our quality of life.
