Ybor Chamber To License Guavaween

The Ybor City Chamber of Commerce is considering licensing its nationally-known Halloween event, Guavaween, to a third party for 2014. "We think it's time for the Chamber to spin-off this unique special event,"

said David Alvarez, Chair of the Ybor City Chamber. 

The Chamber's Guavaween is now in its 28^th year.  This celebration has been an Ybor institution for almost most three decades; long enough to build a significant national reputation. outside of the district. Guavaween's very colorful and somewhat naughty reputation is a 22^nd century phenomena with a web presence that is "larger than life." The creators of Ybor's Guavaween were ahead of their time, capitalizing on what has become the second most commercialized holiday in America.
