With a single contribution of $2.5 million,
Las Vegas gambling magnate Sheldon Adelson
has added his name to the
list of questionable characters standing behind Drug Free Florida, an
organization dedicated to denying patients with debilitating diseases access to
the medical marijuana they need to ease their suffering. At Drug Free Florida Adelson joins former
Reagan drug policy aide Carlton Turner, who once claimed marijuana use led to
homosexuality, tobacco lobbyist Sarah Bascom, and
Mel Sembler, whose controversial STRAIGHT Inc. drug rehab program folded in 1993 due to accusations of widespread cruelty and abuse. here
