In 2015, I started my political journey by volunteering for a little known Senator from Vermont who was running for President on a message of justice – social, economic, criminal, environmental, etc. He empowered the people themselves to join the political process, involve themselves in their communities, and to become the change we wanted to see in this world. He taught us that making the world a better place was not just for those at the top, but came from those fighting from the bottom up. He called on everyone to fight for justice, and to run for public office no matter how small.
