He is a Right-Wing extremist  who is a strong supporter of local bigots Terry Kemple, David Caton and former Republican state Sen. Ronda Storms, He is planning to run for the Hillsborough County Board of Commissioners District 4 seat.  Commissioner Al Higginbotham cannot seek re-election in that district due to term limits. We cannot replace one right-winger with another. We need folks who will epresent all the people of Hillsborough County not just the ones they like.

Local Views: A vote for regression, intolerance

I recently moved to Hillsborough County and have spent the better part of the last year bragging to friends and family about how proud I am of my new home.That pride was shattered by the Hillsborough County Commission's rejection last week of a domestic partnership registry. I could not be more ashamed of this community. The four "no" votes were a step backwards — signaling regression, hate and intolerance. History will mark these commissioners' place alongside the bigots and extremists of other eras. The fight is far from over, and in the end we will win. Good and right always do. The four commissioners had their chance and failed. But now we know where they stand and we can move forward.

On the same day that the Hillsborough County Commission was meeting with the principals of the Tampa Bay Rays, a vote to allow county residents a domestic partnership registry was being defeated. The Rays should remind the commission that the Rays is an inclusive organization and that this vote is not in line with those values.Twenty years ago, the NFL informed Ye Mystic Krewe that the NFL would not tolerate having the Super Bowl associated with an organization that was not inclusive. So too should Major League Baseball and the Tampa Bay Rays remind the county that
 there are consequences to its acts as well.

Largo(City of Regress, not Progress)

All I could do after seeing this is shake my head and cry. Its sad that here we live in country that offers freedom to those who seek it. But yet when it comes to beliefs, views, or differences that freedom is easily taken away. Brandon Pride started because Hillsborough County faced similar bigotry, and hatred 2 years ago when commissioners passed a policy that Gay Pride was no longer allowed, or recognized. The question still remains to this day...Are we truly free to live our lives the way we want to live them, or not?

Former Hillsborough County Commissioner, and newly elected Tampa City Council member Tom Scott once said quote "Civil rights, and Gay Rights are not the same." But this is not about Gay Rights. This is about Equality, nothing more, nothing less. By what Hillsborough County Commissioners, and Largo Commissioners have done is a great injustice to our county by spiting on the Declaration of Independence, and the US Constitution. Most of all they do not represent the districts they serve. Many people in both Hillsborough County, and Largo have stated that they are supportive of the GLBT community. But those commissioners have put their own interests ahead of their constituents, and that is wrong. I have decided I will no longer be confined to a prison camp created by those who spread bigotry and hate. I will continue fighting for Equality by speaking out, and standing my ground. If anyone discriminates against me for who I am my warning is this: "DON'T TREAD ON ME!" I am who I am and I will fight for my freedom and independence to my last breath.
