Mario (Frado) Diaz-Balart Is Out Of Touch And Should Be Out Of Office!

This past June 18th the House Appropriations Committee passed its FY 2016 Financial Services Appropriations bill. It contains three "Cuba-specific" prohibitions that were drafted by one of the most out-of-touch members of Congress - Mario Diaz-Balart. These prohibitions are a threat to the universally lauded advancements in U.S.-Cuba relations and seek to effectively end president Obama's highly successful "people-to-people" policy that has generated interest among all Americans to go to Cuba and see for themselves the devastating effects of the embargo. These measures will also hurt Cubans on the island who have benefited by the influx of tourism.

How can Diaz-Balart claim he is a champion for the Cuban people when 97% of them are in favor of normalization? His judgement is clouded by his family's involvement with Fulgencio Batista, a dictator who suspended democracy in Cuba. Regarding Cuba, it's personal with him and that long-standing vendetta is getting in the way of the inevitable process of normalization. here

The Cuba Trade Act

Would finally end our outdated embargo policy and establish a new economic relationship with Cuba that will support increased trade for American businesses and help the Cuban economy and its people to flourish. here

66 percent of Americans favor ending the trade embargo. Latinos, in particular, believe the embargo should end with 73 percent favoring open trade. Many Republicans, and a few Democrats, oppose the Obama administration's push to reestablish relations with Cuba; most prominent among them is Florida Republican, Sen. Marco Rubio.

Rep. Mario (Frado) Diaz-Balart

House Republicans voted Thursday to keep restrictions on Americans seeking to travel to Cuba. The Republican provision is the handiwork of Rep. Mario (Frado) Diaz-Balart, a top Lieutenant in The Miami Cuban Mafia. The White House has threatened to veto the bill.

Marco Rubio (El Guapo) Of The Miami Cuban Mafia

Suggested that Obama would have a tough time getting an ambassador confirmed or securing funding to reopen a U.S. embassy in Havana. As for the president's push to end the embargo entirely"This Congress is not going to lift the embargo." here
He is such a badass
Polls show more and more Americans support normalizing relations with Cuba, and the trend even extends to Rubio's cohort of Cuban-Americans. here
He is also on the wrong side of history

Port Tampa Bay President Paul Anderson And The Miami Cuban Mafia

Former Tampa Councilwoman Mary Mulhern recalled a conversation she had with Anderson in 2010, shortly after he came to Port Tampa Bay, when she broached the topic of Cuba with him. “Anderson immediately said something like, ‘I know all about Cuba; I’m good friends with Diaz-Balart.” She was referring to U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (Fredo), a South Florida congressman and MCM member who has been working to keep trade restrictions in place between the U.S. and Cuba and stop ferries and cruises from going to the island. here

MCM: Mario (Fredo) Diaz-Balart Blinded By Ideology

President Obama’s attempts at détente with Florida’s southern neighbor Cuba have been well-received throughout the nation and by many in Florida. Approval for the policy change has been wide-ranging and controversy at a minimum. That is unless a zealot has power in some capacity, as Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart currently has in the US House. here

Blinded by ideology to actually claim the Cuban embargo enacted in 1961 unilaterally by the United States
has been successful.

We celebrate the release of the Cuban 5

political prisoners held by the U.S. government for 16 years. Their freedom also marks a positive change in relations between the U.S. government and Cuba.

The Cuban Five are heroes who came to the U.S.
to stop terrorist attacks against their country.
By secretly joining the most reactionary groups in Florida,
the Cuban Five put their lives at risk in order to stop attacks on Cuba and its socialist system. Freedom for the Cuban Five and the plans to normalize relations with Cuba announced by President Obama are to be applauded.
Thank you again President Obama here

Rubio and Ros-Lehtinen, China OK, Cuba No Way

Top aides to Sen. Marco Rubio and
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, two of the most vehement anti-Communist voices in Washington, took an all expenses paid trip to China this month courtesy of the Chinese government. here

They stayed at a luxury hotel and visited top tourist sites, including the Great Wall. The Rubio and Ros-Lehtinen connection stands out because of their strong anti-Communism views. Both Cuban-American lawmakers have condemned the human rights records of China and Cuba and have opposed efforts to lift the U.S. embargo on Cuba. They also regularly criticize people
who have gone to Cuba.

Charlie Crist: End the trade embargo against Cuba

"If you really care about people on the island, we need to get rid of the embargo and
Let freedom reign,"
When Charlie Crist went to Miami's Little Havana recently, the Democratic candidate for governor stood before a crowd and said what few politicians have in decades of scrounging for votes in the
Cuban-American neighborhood:
End the trade embargo
against Cuba
Florida Dems sense an opening with newer Cuban arrivals and
Second-generation Cuban-Americans
who favor resuming diplomatic relations with
 the communist island.
In a sign of just how much the climate has shifted,
Hillary who backed trade limits when she ran for
president in 2008,
is now calling for the embargo to be lifted. Good for her.
She described it as "
Castro's best friend"here
