St. Pete Stop Punishing Poor People For Being Poor

The American Civil Liberties Union and other civil rights organizations are demanding various local governments in Florida allow panhandlers to operate within the city or county limits.
The civil rights organizations sent out letters Thursday to Alachua County, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Lake Worth, Miami Beach, Ocala, Polk County and St. Petersburg and said all eight are violating the First Amendment and punishing poor people for being poor. here

St. Pete Beats Tampa

St. Pete was one of three cities in Florida to earn a 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s Municipal Equality Index. Tampa also came out above the state average with a score of 86. That’s down, however, from its score of 97 last year. All scores are based on a 100-point scale. here
