Hope In Humanity @ USF

The Tampa Bay
Street Medicine Team
For a year and a half, about a dozen students from the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine have met biweekly on a graffiti-covered parking lot at Franklin and Estelle streets before fanning out to deliver free medical care to the homeless.
The Tampa Bay Street Medicine Team,
modeled after groups across the country, brings a supervising volunteer physician, physician’s assistant or nurse practitioner from the college to help in extreme cases, but the rest is left to the students. here

Tuition Equity At USF

All Bulls Are Equal
In the state of Florida, thousands of young people are denied access to higher education because they are forced to pay out of state tuition, despite meeting the requirements for in-state tuition. Ask the USF Board of Trustees and administration to change this, joining FIU and states across the country in granting tuition equity at USF.......here

Tampa Students Protest Homophobic Speaker

Members of Tampa Bay Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) protested against Rosaria Butterfield, a self-described former “radical lesbian feminist turned pastor’s wife.” Butterfield now writes and gives lectures opposing homosexuality and advocating for evangelical Christianity. She believes that homosexuality is a sin and that her pride in being a lesbian was an even greater sin. Under the watchful guard of Tampa Police, private security and USF administrators, the protesters stood for the entirety of her speech as onlookers took pictures and gave approval to the protest act.
