Tampa leaders, groups wear orange to raise awareness on gun violence


People wore orange in Downtown Tampa on Saturday to push for an end to gun violence.

Tampa is one of several cities throughout the weekend taking part in the campaign to raise awareness on the issue. Among those who participated included Moms Demand Action, Tampa police, and State Attorney Suzy Lopez.

Join us on National Gun Violence Awareness Day as we watch our beautiful city of Tampa light up in ORANGE in honor of the 120 Americans who are killed by guns and hundreds wounded every day. We will hear from survivors of gun violence including community partners who are doing the hard work everyday. We will have local art on display.

Wear an orange shirt and bring a sign and a picture of your loved one if you are a gun violence survivor. We will embark on a short Peace Walk down the Riverfront at 7pm.

*This is a family friendly event, and we will have activities for children available.

Democrats, advocates demand action on gun control

Following another round of deadly mass shootings, Democrats and advocates are demanding that Congress move forward with gun control legislation.....MORE

A teen fired 141 rounds from his AR-15-style rifle in his neighborhood.


Police in Farmington, New, Mexico, released chilling video of Monday’s shooting spree and provided details on how residents rushed to help the victims.

Chief Steve Hebbe described a chaotic scene in the neighborhood. Three people were killed and six others wounded in the mass shooting. He said residents helped officers follow the trail of the gunman.

Video shows bullet strike ground during Little League game


The shooting happened just before 8 p.m. Monday evening during a Little League game.

At least seven gunshots can be heard on video obtained by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department from Mission Sports Park. One bullet can even be seen striking the ground, dangerously close to children.

Veterans speak out against Florida's new permitless carry law


One veteran says the law will result in more crime, and "no one wants to try to deescalate anymore."

Thousands of legal Florida gun owners no longer need a state permit to carry their weapons concealed. The new law also removes a requirement that gun owners undergo training. Even though the proposal is now law, it’s still under heavy criticism.
