The Tampa Bay Times has called it

“the bring your gun to the riot bill.” 

The Miami Herald

called this bill “crazy” and says this bill is the “Zombie Apocalypse bill comes to life.” 

Jeff Brandes, is sponsoring a bill that would allow gun owners to carry a concealed weapon during a civil emergency, riots, hurricanes, floods and of course zombie apocalypses, whether they have a permit or not.  As Tom Germond from Tampa Bay Newspapers asks, “Who came up with this idea? Yosemite Sam?”

The Ybor City Chamber of Commerce is considering licensing its nationally-known Halloween event, Guavaween, to a third party for 2014. "We think it's time for the Chamber to spin-off this unique special event,"

said David Alvarez, Chair of the Ybor City Chamber. 

The Chamber's Guavaween is now in its 28^th year.  This celebration has been an Ybor institution for almost most three decades; long enough to build a significant national reputation. outside of the district.
