Tampa Bay Prepares For Same-Sex Marriage

Hillsborough County’s clerk, Pat Frank, said her office has been working on new marriage license forms in anticipation that Florida’s ban would fall. And if same-sex marriage is allowed, she said, there will be local ceremonies. here

GOP Reaching Out To Hispanics Gets Personal

Republican legislation denouncing President Barack Obama's executive action on immigration was approved 219-197. The bill was sponsored by Florida GOP Ted Yoho.

Rep. Xavier Becerra, the highest ranking Hispanic Democrat in the House, said the bill is no longer "symbolic, this is real ... for me as a son of immigrants, this is not symbolic. It's personal."

Florida GOP Ted Yoho Wasting Our Time And Money

The GOP controlled House this afternoon passed a symbolic bill condemning President Barack Obama's executive action on immigration. 
The bill was authored by Florida Rep. 
Ted Yoho of Gainesville 
and passed on a largely party line vote, 219-197. 
Two South Florida Republicans, Reps. Mario Diaz-Balart and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen were among the seven Republicans to vote against the legislation. here

Hillsborough County Corporate Welfare King Ken Hagan

producers of the film The Infiltrator $250,000 to film a few exterior shots in Tampa.

“If we had more incentives, Hillsborough County would have scored the production of nearly the entire film,” Hagan recalled wistfully today.
