created the new panther management plan almost exclusively with a rancher who
was appointed by Rick Scott to the FWC commission. The state of Florida spends
nearly $1 million per year studying the panther, yet the scientists and
biologists involved in those studies weren’t even consulted until after
the controversial plan was drafted. here
