Right Wing Calhoun County, Florida

Calhoun County is a little rural county in Florida’s panhandle. It’s closer to Alabama than to Miami – and its citizens vote like Alabama. It’s two-thirds white and two-thirds of its votes went to Florida’s right-wing GOP governor in 2014. But on Oct. 4, the teachers in Calhoun County’s school system made history: They voted union, with theNational Education Association.  the NEA had to run an undercover campaign to organize them. That’s because Rick Scott, had convinced the overwhelmingly Republican state legislature, five years ago, to eliminate tenure. Say “the ‘u’ word” and you might be out of a job in an area like
Calhoun County. here

Local Idiot Daniel Davis

Florida GOP and Pro TBX
Hillsborough County Commission candidate Tim Schock fired his campaign manager  Daniel Davis after learning that in a recent political argument on Facebook, the manager used a homosexual slur and told a military veteran he didn't respect his service.  He also told a firefighter to "go die in a fire" and insinuated that a man's 1-year-old daughter would have to "whore herself out to get through college" because her father was poor. here

The Dunedin Chamber of Commerce Cozy Relationship With Government

During a four-year period ending September 30, 2015, the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce received $74,500 in government grants from the city and the county. The chamber is a private corporation, not a government agency, yet it receives money from the city without a contract specifying what the money is to be used for. here

Patrick Is Fucked

After sticking us with this crap when we could of had real Dems Grayson or Keith, Washington Democrats are now abandoning Patrick Murphy in his race to unseat Marco Rubio, increasing the long odds the challenger faces and angering Florida Democrats who say their party is indirectly helping the Republican politically rehabilitate as he eyes a future White House bid. here

Apparently, this is what happens when you endorse your own demise.

Rick Scott: Poppycock

A federal judge ordered a one-day extension in Florida's voter registration deadline and seemed ready to consider a longer delay against the backdrops of the recovery from Hurricane Matthew. U.S. District Judge Mark Walker said the state should continue accepting voter registration papers through 5 p.m. Wednesday. He also set up a Wednesday morning hearing to consider a request by the Florida Democratic Party to keep registration open until Oct. 18 – a week after the initial deadline was set to pass. here

Floridians Stop Being So Fucking Stupid!

VOTE NO ON 1!
A poll conducted last month by the Florida Chamber of Commerce, shows support for Amendment 1 at 66 percent, with
16 percent opposed.
----------------
More than three-quarters of the $21 million raised by Consumers for Smart Solar (Amendment 1) has come from the state's four largest utilities —- FPL, Duke Energy, Tampa Electric Co. and Gulf Power.
This is a sham. It is an effort to hinder the development of alternative fuels. Get your head out of your ass and pay attention.
-----------------
Duke Energy contributed $5.7 million,
Tampa Electric Co. provided $3 million,
and Gulf Power gave $2.1 million,
in addition to FPL's $5.5 million.

Republicans Hope Hurricane Matthew Will Deliver Florida To GOP

Florida Governor Rick Scott refuses to extend the deadline to register to vote, even though his state is being rocked by a massive hurricane. Could it be because the areas affected by the storm lean heavily Democratic?
