Florida’s electors will meet in the state Capital Monday to cast their votes for president. Don’t expect any surprises.

“I really appreciate all the postcards that I’ve gotten. The front side of them were pretty. I kind of find it amusing. What lemmings they are.” Sharon Day, an elector who also serves as co-chair of the Republican National Committee

Florida Legislative Leader Suing Pitbull'

Florida: Joseph Kanter's Family

The battle over oil drilling in the Everglades of Broward County will continue, now that the family of pioneering South Florida developer Joseph Kanter, filed legal petitions to take the issue to court, keeping alive a proposal that had generated intense opposition among environmentalists and cities near the site. here
-------------
They have proposed to drill an exploratory well about 11,800 feet below the surface, at a site about five miles west of U.S. 27 and 10 miles south of Alligator Alley.
-------------
"The very idea of putting an oil well in this landscape is ludicrous. It's degraded, but it's the Everglades, and it's providing habitat to many species that are federally endangered or threatened. The canal they're building next to drains directly into Everglades National Park. Anything that goes into the canal is going to affect the park."
