‘No Christmas as usual’: Pro-Palestinian protestors storm city streets on ‘Super Saturday’
Pro-Palestinian protestors took to the streets on “Super Saturday” en masse, protesting on the day before Christmas Eve, which is often a time shoppers try to pick up last-minute gifts before the holidays.
The “Shut it Down for Palestine” movement, made up of pro-Palestinian groups, had plans to “organize actions to boycott, disrupt, and rally at commercial centers on Dec. 23,” according to the website of the ANSWER Coalition activist group.

Ron DeSantis decided that Florida needed its own army, and because DeSantis gets what he wants in Florida, the legislature funded the state’s private army, one separate and apart from the National Guard.

Newsom warns efforts to keep Trump off California ballot could be ‘political distraction’
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) warned efforts to prevent former President Trump from getting on the ballot in his state could be a “political distraction” Thursday.
“There is no doubt that Donald Trump is a threat to our liberties and even to our democracy,” Newsom said Friday in a statement, which was first reported by Politico. “But, in California, we defeat candidates at the polls.”

Floridians Protecting Freedom, the group behind a citizen initiative to put abortion rights on the ballot in 2024, believes it will surpass the required signature threshold this month.
The proposed amendment, titled Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion, would enshrine abortion access in the Florida Constitution if passed.
