Hillsborough County Right Wing Approve Cap On Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

The 6-1 vote came after commissioners heard from several residents who pleaded against caps, citing concerns about access for patients and lack of competition driving up prices.

"I'm little surprised it's left to me to make the free-market argument," said Kemp, a Democrat.

Hillsborough County Right Wing Infestation

Right wing Hillsborough County Commissioners Lesley Les Miller, Ken Hagan, Sandy Murman, Stacy White, Al Higginbotham and Victor D Crist intend to restrict the number of medical marijuana dispensaries to 13.
------------------------------------------
Florida GOP Commissioners Ken Hagan and Sandy Murman made unfavorable comparisons to the dispensaries resembling the state’s notorious pill mills.

Hillsborough County Right Wing Infestation

Florida GOP County Commissioner Sandy Murman says she is "probably" going to leave her district seat to run for a countywide seat in 2018. Murman faces a 2020 term limit. Jumping to a countywide seat would restart her term limit clock. here

DEMS BEWARE
Florida GOP Victor Crist and Ken Hagan could also be seeking new seats that would enable them to avoid term limits.

Letters From GOP Hillsborough County Commissioners

Letter I sent our county commissioners
on the issue of transit.

"I have been a HART rider for over 10 years. More roads does not help me at all. STOP spending our money on roads. We want more buses and rail. We have one of the worst transit systems in the country. With the exception of Ms. Kemp are you all in developers pockets?"
-----
Thank you for contacting the office of Commissioner Crist about funding for public transit.  I will be sure to share your thoughts and concerns on the issue with the Commissioner.
Sincerely,
Chris Heintz
Legislative Aide
Commissioner Crist, District 2
-----
Thank you so much for contacting our office regarding Transit. Your input regarding this issue is important  to the Commissioner. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and opinions with us. Have a great day and please don’t hesitate to call our office if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Ms. Eli Rodriguez
Aide to County Commissioner Al Higginbotham
Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners
-----
Thank you for your email. Commissioner Hagan is just as frustrated as you are about the need for funding adequate transit in Tampa/Hillsborough county. That is why he was the only Republican on the Board to support placing the sales tax referendum on the ballot last year. Unfortunately, a majority of board members opposed that plan.

The hard truth is that we have billions of dollars in unmet infrastructure needs in Hillsborough county and the only way to begin to address that is to have a dedicated funding source of tax dollars—this has been very hard to come by. But Commissioner Hagan is committed to continue fighting to address our transportation needs in a meaningful and rational way. In the meantime, the Board will soon finalize a transportation plan that will dedicate $700 million over 10 years to improve existing roads and provide congestion relief where possible in Hillsborough county. Feel free to share with us any questions you may have concerning this plan. And please let us know if we can ever be of service to you. Have a great day.

Tampa's Culture Of Corruption

More than a year after the Florida Commission on Ethics agreed to investigate several complaints filed against  County commissioners Sandy Murman and Ken Hagan and Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn, the cases remain unresolved. here

Pro TBX Sandy Murman

How to spend a $7.9 million surplus.

Murman, wants the surplus to go immediately toward fixing roads. She threatened to keep commissioners there all day with motions to allocate the money for transportation and questioned their commitment to solving the problem.

"You guys, is transportation important?
I mean, really." Murman
-----
"If transportation was such a high priority for Commissioner Murman, with all due respect, she should have supported the referendum (to raise the sales tax)." Ken Hagan

Corporate Welfare: Hillsborough County Pays $350,000 For 30 New Jobs

The exemption for NewSouth Window Solutions would save the company nearly $50,000 a year in ad valorem taxes and cost the county nearly $350,000 in lost revenue over the seven-year proposal. In return, NewSouth would have to create at least 30 new jobs in Hillsborough County. here
-----------
The Hillsborough County Commission
unanimously approved
this giveaway!
---------
“This is a great story of a manufacturer expanding in our community,” said Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandra Murman.
Murman said criticism to past incentives stemmed from a lack of accountability. The NewSouth deal would require the company to create at least 30 jobs or the deal is off.

Tampa Bay's Culture Of Corruption

Many of the politicians who decide how many tax dollars will go to benefit Tampa Bay’s professional sports franchises are also accepting free tickets to those teams’ games.   Tributes also include beer, wine, liquor, and a number of casual food items such as burgers and Cuban sandwiches.  Occasionally, crab cakes and sushi may be added. And access to politically-influential business leaders is always on the menu.

Commissioner Murman has also voted to support the Rick Scott Express (TBX) and the tolling of the Howard Frankland Bridge. It's our turn to send a message.

Cojones-Less Hillsborough County Commissioners

Exception Kevin Beckner
-----------
The Hillsborough BOCC has voted 6-1 in favor of the $600m plan to raid the existing budget to further subsidize sprawl. Outgoing commissioner Kevin Beckner was the lone no vote. Virtually 100% of the spending will occur in areas where developers are building houses, but are not providing adequate infrastructure. Instead, the county is increasingly taking money from taxpayers in established neighborhoods (Tampa), and using it to subsidize new growth. here

After a show of force by citizens at Wednesdays meeting they still voted against us. Hillsborough Dems wake up, you have the power,
do the the math.

Florida GOP, Pro TBX Sandy Murman MIA

The Tiger Bay debate in Ybor was originally scheduled for October 7. Sandy Murman was unable to appear on that date so Tiger Bay reschedule the event around Ms. Murman's schedule to October 14. She confirmed almost two weeks ago, now suddenly has a conflict on this date.
"Maybe Ms. Murman doesn't want to defend her vote on TBX. Maybe she doesn't want to discuss the fiscally irresponsible transit 'plan' that she recently proposed that would have jeopardized our credit rating and threatened future essential services (police, fire, and rescue). Maybe she wanted to avoid having to answer questions about her donors - many of them developers - and why she often votes in favor of developer interests, instead of the residents of a particular area. These are all questions that may never get answered now that she is not going to attend the October 14 forum." here

Florida GOP Sandy Murman Yes On TBX

We've been trying to tell Sandy Murman about the problems with #TBXfor months. She's ignored us and ultimately voted yes on TBX, paving the way to demolish 100 private homes and 30 businesses. Sandy Murman wants to blame @fdot7 but the ultimate responsibility is with her and her vote. She wants to blame #Fdot but shouldn't she have known this plan as a sitting @Hillsborough MPO member? here

Florida GOP Sandy Murman's Publicity Stunt

“I think Sandy Murman’s plan was a gimmick to get in the headlines.”

The Democrat trying to oust Sandy Murman from the Hillsborough County Commission says she was disingenuous when she offered an alternative to a proposed transportation tax last fall.

Sandy, Al, Ken And Stacy Avoiding Jim Norman

Four Republicans have quite noticeably stayed on the sidelines as Norman seeks the party nomination for a return to the county commission: His would-be colleagues.
Commissioners Ken Hagan, Al Higginbotham, Sandy Murman and Stacy White won’t make an endorsement in Norman’s race against Tampa businessman Tim Schock for the open District 6 seat. here
