Hillsborough County Right Wing Approve Cap On Medical Marijuana Dispensaries

The 6-1 vote came after commissioners heard from several residents who pleaded against caps, citing concerns about access for patients and lack of competition driving up prices.

New Rays Stadium In Ybor City?

Ken Hagan sald that somewhere with easy downtown access like Channelside or Ybor City would be prime candidates for the new ball park.

No Baseball fans here, but we think that is a great idea. He does not mention who would pay for it. more

Hillsborough County Right Wing Infestation

Right wing Hillsborough County Commissioners Lesley Les Miller, Ken Hagan, Sandy Murman, Stacy White, Al Higginbotham and Victor D Crist intend to restrict the number of medical marijuana dispensaries to 13.

Florida GOP Commissioners Ken Hagan and Sandy Murman made unfavorable comparisons to the dispensaries resembling the state’s notorious pill mills.

Hillsborough County Right Wing Infestation

Florida GOP County Commissioner Sandy Murman says she is "probably" going to leave her district seat to run for a countywide seat in 2018. Murman faces a 2020 term limit. Jumping to a countywide seat would restart her term limit clock. here

DEMS BEWARE
Florida GOP Victor Crist and Ken Hagan could also be seeking new seats that would enable them to avoid term limits.

Florida GOP Ken Hagan Wrong Again

The City of Tampa may have a highlight reel to show off its successful 2017 College Football Playoff championship, but Hillsborough County doesn't seem to have the tax receipts to prove the event was an economic success for the region.
-------------------
When Tampa landed playoff championship week more than three years ago, Hillsborough Commissioner Ken Hagan claimed the event would bring somewhere between 1,700 and 1,800 full-time jobs, as well as $250 million to $350 million in economic impact. However, that kind of revenue would have generated an extra $17.5 million to $24.5 million in sales taxes, which there seems to be little evidence to support. here

Letters From GOP Hillsborough County Commissioners

Letter I sent our county commissioners
on the issue of transit.

"I have been a HART rider for over 10 years. More roads does not help me at all. STOP spending our money on roads. We want more buses and rail. We have one of the worst transit systems in the country. With the exception of Ms. Kemp are you all in developers pockets?"
-----
Thank you for contacting the office of Commissioner Crist about funding for public transit.  I will be sure to share your thoughts and concerns on the issue with the Commissioner.
Sincerely,
Chris Heintz
Legislative Aide
Commissioner Crist, District 2
-----
Thank you so much for contacting our office regarding Transit. Your input regarding this issue is important  to the Commissioner. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and opinions with us. Have a great day and please don’t hesitate to call our office if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Ms. Eli Rodriguez
Aide to County Commissioner Al Higginbotham
Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners
-----
Thank you for your email. Commissioner Hagan is just as frustrated as you are about the need for funding adequate transit in Tampa/Hillsborough county. That is why he was the only Republican on the Board to support placing the sales tax referendum on the ballot last year. Unfortunately, a majority of board members opposed that plan.

The hard truth is that we have billions of dollars in unmet infrastructure needs in Hillsborough county and the only way to begin to address that is to have a dedicated funding source of tax dollars—this has been very hard to come by. But Commissioner Hagan is committed to continue fighting to address our transportation needs in a meaningful and rational way. In the meantime, the Board will soon finalize a transportation plan that will dedicate $700 million over 10 years to improve existing roads and provide congestion relief where possible in Hillsborough county. Feel free to share with us any questions you may have concerning this plan. And please let us know if we can ever be of service to you. Have a great day.

Cordially,

Corporate Welfare: Hillsborough County Pays $350,000 For 30 New Jobs

The exemption for NewSouth Window Solutions would save the company nearly $50,000 a year in ad valorem taxes and cost the county nearly $350,000 in lost revenue over the seven-year proposal. In return, NewSouth would have to create at least 30 new jobs in Hillsborough County. here

The Hillsborough County Commission
unanimously approved
this giveaway!
---------
“This is a great story of a manufacturer expanding in our community,” said Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandra Murman.
Murman said criticism to past incentives stemmed from a lack of accountability. The NewSouth deal would require the company to create at least 30 jobs or the deal is off.

Cojones-Less Hillsborough County Commissioners

Exception Kevin Beckner
-----------
The Hillsborough BOCC has voted 6-1 in favor of the $600m plan to raid the existing budget to further subsidize sprawl. Outgoing commissioner Kevin Beckner was the lone no vote. Virtually 100% of the spending will occur in areas where developers are building houses, but are not providing adequate infrastructure. Instead, the county is increasingly taking money from taxpayers in established neighborhoods (Tampa), and using it to subsidize new growth. here

After a show of force by citizens at Wednesdays meeting they still voted against us. Hillsborough Dems wake up, you have the power,
do the the math.

Four Republicans have quite noticeably stayed on the sidelines as Norman seeks the party nomination for a return to the county commission: His would-be colleagues.

Hillsborough County GOP E-Mail Scandal

Hillsborough County Commissioners Sandy Merman and Ken Hagan possibly violated Florida Sunshine Laws when they failed to produce  Emails they said didn’t exist. It was not until community activist Tom Rask threatened to sue that Hagan and Merman agreed to release dozens of previously hidden emails relating to county business.

Ms. Murman is sorry
“I didn’t mean any harm”
And Hagan blamed his staff.
