Great Work Raíces en Tampa
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office will no longer jail immigrants who are being investigated for deportation, a policy change that brings the agency in line with other local sheriff's offices.
Local immigration activist group Raíces en Tampa is taking credit for the change. here

Steve Southerland's bill that would block new federal oversight of waterways and wetlands in lieu of local control The measure passed 262-152, with 35 Democrats, including Florida's Alcee Hastings, joining Republicans.
