Allen West thanked a gathering of Republican faithful for turning out in force to see him. He was given a super hero's welcome at the Florida Strawberry Festival grounds. West was greeted by a standing ovation as he entered the hall at the Arthur Boring Civic Center, and would get three more. It took him half an hour to take his seat as a crush of fans gathered to pump his hand and pose for photographs.
More than 23,000 students made a decision to pay money out of their own pockets in order to help improve the living conditions of people across the United States and Canada. Some landed in the Tampa Bay area.
If you've never seen him live, before, here's a chance at an inspirational treat. He can really get a room rocking, and over an issue that's vital here in Florida Voter suppression.

I'm Deputy Steven Donaldson with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office here in Tampa, Florida. You may have heard of the homeless initiative I started just over a year ago which has recently received some media attention. We have been successful in assisting 55 homeless with housing in a years time and the effort has expanded throughout the county in three of our four districts, thus far.
I recently started a blog, D3HomelessInitiative, to promote the effort and broadcast the effort's productive results in the form of pictorials and written essays of individual stories. The Sheriff's Office has embraced the concept since it seems to have had both a quantitative and qualitative impact on the streets within our jurisdictional boundaries.
The Sheriff' Office has allowed me to work on this effort full-time and we also have two additional deputies dedicated to this cause, one each, in District I (University area) and District II (Brandon area). I work in District III (Town N' Country, Carrollwood) where the effort originated.

An effort by Florida Republican Mario Diaz-Balart to overturn Obama administration rules easing restrictions on travel to Cuba may win congressional approval despite a threatened presidential veto.
We Are Against Any and Every Cut to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits. Not today, not tomorrow, and not ever. No way, no how. Not on your life, and certainly not on mine. I’m a former Member of Congress. If more than 100,000 of us sign this petition, I will go to Washington, DC, myself, and I will deliver it personally to the White House. - Alan
Hillsborough County may pay a financial services firm more than $1 million partly to help it add workers, but partly just to stick around. If the company takes the money, it could set a new precedent for the county that - potentially - would encourage other companies to seek money for retaining workers. Traditionally, the county has given incentives for creating new jobs or luring new companies to the area. Tuesday morning, Hillsborough County Commissioners approved offering an unnamed company
an economic incentive package worth $1.2 million. here
Now we have to pay for the right to work.

"Allen West has a long history of outrageous comments. However, in the last two days, West has demonstrated unusually bizarre behavior - showing himself to be truly unhinged and incapable of controlling himself. As if referring to Americans who support their President as a "threat to the gene pool" wasn't bad enough, West then unleashed a peronal assult on Representative Wasserman- Schultz calling her "vile" and "despicable". He then had the audacity to label this brave elected leader who courageously shared her successful struggle with breast cancer with the nation as a "coward". Enough is enough. His conduct is unbecoming a member of Congress. He has disrespected his office and should be censured by the House of Representatives immediately. "......Patrick Murphy
Probably on Live365, as Mark Weaver iRadio (v 2.0) "Come join me in the Green Party! Tampa Bay has a good chapter. Remember, it was Bob Graham who was architect of the “Out of Iraq, into Afghanistan” strategy when he was chair of the Intelligence Committee. Kendrick Meek was pushing Obama to send more troops to Afghanistan even before Obama did it. Debbie Wasserman Schultz pushes a very hard line on the Cuba embargo and travel ban, even worse than Obama. And she backs Netanyahu down the line whatever evil he commits, including the continuing land thefts from the Palestinians. She’s pushing for the next war, against Iran, when the time comes. All these people are rightwingers posing as liberals.
The Democratic Party, just more war and injustice and selling out the middle class. Stop promoting, financing and voting for the Democratic Party. Turn your wasted, manipulated, self-damaging energies to genuine individual Left candidates and issues.".......Mark Weaver Should i change my slogan to "Watching The (Democrat) Right Wing In Tampa Bay?"

I am trying my best not to become a cynical old fart in old age, if you call 51 old age. But the brainwashing of our country in the name of "what's best for the country" is sickening. We need less spending now, like we need a hole in the head. People losing their houses, jobs and eating the cheapest food they can find, are not free. We need smart spending i.e. in education to help the masses, not less taxes for the multi-nationals.
We had a balanced budget in 2001, and then Bush decided he had to spend 1 billion dollars a day in Iraq. Afghanistan is 10 billion per month; Libya is 300 million per month! Why is defense not in the austerity discussions? Wages have decreased over the last decade thanks to our free trade polices with un-developed nations and CEOs who farm our jobs out to these countries are making millions, as is Wall Street. Spreading the wealth in the name of the public good is American, so we can afford public programs that has made our country great i.e. LBJs Great Society programs.
Dog eat dog with a growing wage gap and poor in the streets is not American. It's time for the people to start demonstrating our ........ cynicism?, concerns for the country. For the Tampa area the WMNF web site would be a place to ogranize. They've already lost their government support. Rob Lorei
