Florida State Fair festivities kick off Thursday in Tampa
The Florida State Fair kicks off Thursday.
All the food, fun, rides, music and exhibits run through Feb. 19 at the fairgrounds in Tampa.
Tickets range from $6 to $16.
Hours of operation will run from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday through Sunday.
Family pushes for change 10 years after son’s death
It’s been 10 years, but the memories of what happened at the Florida State Fair remain vivid for family members.
14-year-old Andrew Joseph was kicked out of the fair in 2014, and was hit by a car while trying to cross I-4.
His family held a candlelight vigil at the Partico Café in downtown Tampa on Wednesday to ensure his death will not be forgotten.
