Florida Is On The Extreme: Disenfranchise Prisoners
Florida voters weighed in on who should be the next president of the United States. But some 1.5 million Floridians are left out of that voting process: convicted felons. Florida is one of the worst states to commit a felony and expect ever to vote again, because you won’t be able to. here

Panama City: Police State
“It’s a police state “When there are blue lights in front of Spinnaker and La Vela every night, that’s not welcoming. The sheriff has put the message out on social media that if you come to Panama City and drink on the beach you are going to jail. Not get a citation, but go to jail.” Sparky Sparkman, the owner of Spinnaker Beach Club. here
His business is down 85 to 90 percent compared to last Spring Break as college students have found other destinations in the wake of new laws, including a ban on drinking on the beach in March. Sparkman said it’s not just the Spring Break laws that have taken its toll; it’s also the heavy presence of law enforcement that has chased away spring breakers.

Florida Thanks You President Obama
Over the past two years,
more than 100 local governments,
100 members of Congress,
1,000 small businesses,
and hundreds of thousands of residents
have voiced a bi-partisan call to protect
our coast from the impacts of offshore drilling. Together we have stood up for the quality of life we enjoy on the Southeast coast and the booming tourism economy, which are dependent upon
clean and healthy
beaches and marshes. here

Tampa Keep It Below 20 Grams
The City Council on Thursday eased the penalties for carrying misdemeanor amounts of marijuana, creating the option of imposing a civil fine instead of arresting offenders. The ordinance would effectively decriminalize in Tampa the consequences of possessing up to 20 grams — or about three-quarters of an ounce — of marijuana.. here
