Bay Area Shelters Need Our Help

December 5, marked the first day of Hillsborough County opening its cold weather shelters welcoming dozens of residents, both homeless and those who live in homes without adequate heat. Such sites have assisted more than 6,000 individuals, during the winter months, providing them with evening meals, a place to sleep out of the cold as well as breakfast.......here

The County Shelters Include

Bethune Park Rural Shelter, 5809 Edina St. in Wimauma, 671-7618.
The Brandon Community Center, 510 E. Sadie St. in Brandon, 635-8179.
The Metropolitan Ministries, 2010 N. Florida Ave. in Tampa, 209-1077.
The Salvation Army, 1514 N. Florida Ave. in Tampa, 221-4440.

Those wishing to donate supplies should contact each individual shelter.

Event To Support Haiti Orphans In Ybor City

The Hot Spot 813 located in Ybor City is holding an event on Thursday December 16, 2010 at 7pm to help orphaned children of Haiti. Throughout the week leading up to
the event The Hot Spot 813 will be accepting Donations that will be sent to
Haiti after the December 16,2010 event at 7pm. The Dog's Bollocks located in
Ybor City will be sponsoring the food and beverages also there will be live
entertainment performed by Tim Walker.
