Faculty and staff of Steward Middle School in Tampa, Florida, were surprised Monday morning by a seven-foot alligator that had wandered into the building over the weekend. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission along with trappers caught the animal, removed it and euthanized it......here

An arm of the oil slick appears to have exited the Loop Current and is drifting eastward aided by onshore winds. St. Petersburg has been nationally known for aggressive tactics against the homeless. Those acts included destroying the tents of homeless people. St. Petersburg is making an attempt to ban solicitations on road mediums. Panhandlers will not be the only people punished. Newspaper venders, charities and firefighers will be effected by the ban.......here
