Extinction Rebellion At Tampa City Hall
Less Attacks, More Substance, Tampa Politics!
We in Tampa, FL, are no strangers to negative political attack advertisements. We are now witnesses to multiple attack ads in both our mayoral and City Council races. These ads can be major turnoffs for people, & often times for good reason.
In the election for City Council District 5, an attack ad has gone out which demonizes Orlando Gudes, and it is an example of poor politics. It has originated from Sarasota accountant Eric Robinson’s “Making a Better Tomorrow,” which is known for representing Republican candidates and committees. The ad went out on behalf of Jeff Rhodes, who is Orlando’s opponent in the District 5 runoff election. It is unfortunate that the Rhodes campaign has stooped to this level and I am hopeful that the people of District 5 will recognize the desperation in these ads.
Rather than attack the Gudes campaign, why wouldn’t the Rhodes campaign focus on their candidate and his message? Orlando’s election has been paved with platform ads, genuine endorsements, and diverse support. It is a shame that the Rhodes campaign has decided to go with Republican attack ads to muddy the field. I have met Mr. Rhodes and took no issue with him. I am disappointed that the election took such a turn.
It is my hope that Team Gudes remembers the words of Michelle Obama: “When they go low, we go high.” While we should make it clear that Republican based attack ads are not welcome in District 5, we should refrain from further criticism of the opposition that would only intensify the negativity. Let’s bring it home for Orlando with his platform and diverse support; not personal attack ads.

Who Gave Ross Spano A Dollar?
Rep. Ross Spano collected just one dollar in grassroots donations in the first quarter of the year.
The Florida Republican received just one unitemized contribution of less than $200 — a single donation of $1 — his latest filing to the Federal Election Commission shows. HERE

Who Owns Florida Ave?
My name is Greg Spadaccini and I need your help to raise funds for legal representation.
I am the owner and operator of Spaddy's Coffee Co. in Seminole Heights and in April of 2019 I decided to launch Florida Avenue Eats. It's a fast casual restaurant serving bowls, wraps, and salads. 4 days after our grand opening, I was served at 6:30am with a summons to appear in civil federal court from Brew Bus Brewing for trademark infringement of their brand Florida Avenue Brewing. Florida Avenue is a public road, one of Tampa's longest stretching business roads, and the road we operate business on. HELP HIM HERE

SSA: Semhi for Orlando Gudes!
Election Day is April 23rd and early voting is underway! Remember that Orlando has his eyes set on making workforce reentry for returning citizens more feasible and on fighting for a park to better service youth & seniors living in long ignored District 5. He got ballot access because people gathered thousands of petitions on his behalf, a feat no other municipal candidate this cycle (in Tampa) can boast!
Please join me in sending Orlando Gudes to the Tampa City Council! Let’s bring it home for Orlando!
