I Tought Floridians Wanted Change? These People Are From The Same Party That Has Controlled State Politics For A Long Time. To Borrow A Phrase From Bill Splitlog And Embellish It A Little Bit...
"If Morons Had Wings, Florida Would Be An Airport!"

Kendrick Meek Thanks Floridians

"Tonight, I stand before my fellow Floridians with an overflowing heart and an uplifted spirit, forever appreciative that people throughout this state believed in our campaign and embraced values that we as Floridians hold dear. From the moment we began this journey in January before President Obama's inauguration through this evening, we have prided ourselves on our hard work, and steadfast dedication to the people of our state.

"We stand on the belief that our economy will only flourish when the middle class is thriving and small businesses are hiring. The lifelong bedrock that makes our party great and this nation flourish is rooted in principles of equality and social justice, of protecting our environment and defending a woman's right to choose. These are not sometime Democratic values, but all-the-time Democratic values. On our essential beliefs, we can never compromise because too many people in the generations preceding us have toiled and struggled for the liberties we now enjoy and the way of life we deserve.

"We were the campaign that brought voice to the people of struggle, to individuals in our communities who are working harder than ever before but earning less. Those individuals, they are our teachers and firefighters, our nurses and bus drivers -- everyday working people who support their families through hard work deserve an advocate too, and my candidacy was for them. They are Florida's middle class and their work ethic defined by uncommon excellence is on display everyday. We fought for them.

"To my opponents, I congratulate them on their campaigns. To Florida's Senator-elect Marco Rubio, I congratulate you on winning a plurality of the vote and standing on principle.

"Tonight the people of Florida have spoken, but tomorrow we will rise with ongoing challenges and unmet demands. No one has a monopoly on how best to heal our state, but we know much work lays ahead for all of us. The fight for a better, more prosperous Florida future continues and my commitment to people all throughout our state endures. For two years, you have embraced me and for the rest of my life, I shall embrace you. Better days lay ahead of us and, through hard work, we will arrive at that future together."......Kendrick Meek

Thank You Mr. Meek!

Tampa: Why The Fuck Would Anyone Want To Live Here?

It’s certainly not an understatement to say that tuesday November 2nd 2010 will be a day that defines the Tampa Bay area for generations. For the first time ever Hillsborough county voters will have a chance to approve funding for light rail, increased bus services, and road improvements. One of the problems with ballot referendums is that even stupid people get to vote on them. Even teabaggers get to vote, even knuckle dragging mouth breathing evangelical retards get to vote. Even the moronic “what’s in it for me” crowd gets to vote. And that’s what scares me.

Immigrant Cigar Makers In Florida

Helped Fund Cuban Independence
With the support of the cigar makers, (Jose) Martí established the Cuban Revolutionary Party and planned a military attack on Cuba’s Spanish government. Refusing the title of “President”, José Martí became the “delegate” of the Cuban Revolutionary Party on April 18, 1892. By 1895, the Fernandina Plan, a plan for Cuban independence by force, was set in motion.

Ken Hagan A No Show

Anti-Incumbent = Anti-Republican in Florida

No matter how you slice or dice it, no matter what Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Fox News or the Republican Party may say – the only way to vote against the status quo, against incumbents, against the culture of corruption and gridlock that has gripped Florida government for years now, is to vote against almost everyone affiliated with the party that has controlled every branch of government for over a decade.

Florida, Guess Who's Voting?

"Bad officials are elected by good citizens who do not vote." ~ George Jean Nathan. This is Florida after all, and we've seen plenty of elections where just hundreds of votes can make the difference between progress and more of the same.

GOP: The Party Of Nothing

Something To Think About Before You Vote
The Florida Senate has been under Republican control since 1992, the Florida House since 1996, and we've had a Republican governor since 1999. If you think Florida's economy is the result of national laws and policies, please take note that the U.S. House and Senate were controlled by Republicans for 11 of the last 15 years and the presidency was held by a Republican for eight of the last 10 years.

It is not logical to blame President Barack Obama for failing to clean up the economic mess created by Republicans holding national and state office in less than two years.

If you are unhappy with the state of Florida's economy, "something different" would be to replace the Republicans who created this mess with some Democrats who might be able to clean it up.

Leanne Giles, Of Seminole. Letter In The St. Pete Times.
Why would anyone besides the wealthy belong to this party, How does someone vote against their own self intrest?

You’re paying Ken Hagan more than $100,000 dollars a year and he’s missed more than 50% of his meetings. Call Hagan's county commission office at 272-5452 and ask why he can't manage to get to work.

Eight Things You Should Know Before You Vote

1) President Obama tripled the deficit.
Reality: Bush's last budget had a $1.416 trillion deficit. Obama's first budget reduced that to $1.29 trillion.

2) President Obama raised taxes, which hurt the economy.
Reality: Obama cut taxes. 40% of the "stimulus" was wasted on tax cuts which only create debt, which is why it was so much less effective than it could have been.

3) President Obama bailed out the banks.
Reality: While many people conflate the "stimulus" with the bank bailouts, the bank bailouts were requested by President Bush and his Treasury Secretary, former Goldman Sachs CEO Henry Paulson. (Paulson also wanted the bailouts to be "non-reviewable by any court or any agency.") The bailouts passed and began before the 2008 election of President Obama.

4) The stimulus didn't work.
Reality: The stimulus worked, but was not enough. In fact, according to the Congressional Budget Office, the stimulus raised employment by between 1.4 million and 3.3 million jobs.

5) Businesses will hire if they get tax cuts.
Reality: A business hires the right number of employees to meet demand. Having extra cash does not cause a business to hire, but a business that has a demand for what it does will find the money to hire. Businesses want customers, not tax cuts.

6) Health care reform costs $1 trillion.
Reality: The health care reform reduces government deficits by $138 billion.

7) Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, is "going broke," people live longer, fewer workers per retiree Reality: Social Security has run a surplus since it began, has a trust fund in the trillions, is completely sound for at least 25 more years and cannot legally borrow so cannot contribute to the deficit (compare that to the military budget!) Life expectancy is only longer because fewer babies die; people who reach 65 live about the same number of years as they used to.

8) Government spending takes money out of the economy.
Reality: Government is We, the People and the money it spends is on We, the People. Many people do not know that it is government that builds the roads, airports, ports, courts, schools and other things that are the soil in which business thrives. Many people think that all government spending is on "welfare" and "foreign aid" when that is only a small part of the government's budget.

Chris Ingram: Confessions Of A Republican

Some of my more narrow-minded Republican friends have suggested I am not a Republican -
at least a not very good one.
By their definition being a "good Republican" means drinking the Kool-aid, following the party's ridiculous "loyalty oath" (pledging to vote for and support any and all Republicans - even if Charles Manson is on the ballot so long as his name is followed by an "R"), and subscribing to Ronald Reagan's "11th Commandment" - though shall not speak ill of a fellow Republican.
